Having a really bad day today

Spent most of the morning in tears,  insomnia still raising it's ugly head.  Think I had maybe 4 hrs sleep.  I am on 100mgs sertraline.  Wondering if I should increase it or wait a little longer?  When do we know when to increase.  Advice please.

Sorry to hear that you're in such a bad way Lynda. How long you been on 100mg?

Three weeks now. Started at 25 for three weeks, 50 three, 75 three, now 100 for three.

Your early into treatment and your body needs to settle at a dose. I'd stick at 100 for a bit longer. You having any good ish days on 100mg? I'm on 125mg I tried 100mg but it hit me like a bus keep strong x

Insomnia might be the meds mine is back since increasing

Been on them since April 11th.  I know I haven't been on a steady dose for much of that time but it still feels like a long time if you know what I mean.  When did you up to 125 and how are you responding?

thks for your reply and answering.

3 weeks ago. I don't see much difference it's all on and off I think you one day look back and realise how far you've come even though it's so slow. My good bits last longer. My bad days don't last as long as they did but they are still there. I think my anxiety and thoughts are the worst at the moment but last week it was the depression so it's all up and down. Mindfulness is helping a bit and having talking sessions once a week too x

Sorry, but Sertraline is popping up on here way too often, and I feel I must say what a crap antidepressant it is. It actually made me feel worse and looking back, I suffered with sleeplessness too! I would def go back to your GP and ask to try Prozac, it has worked miracles on me and I'm wide awake and raring to go in the mornings. It's as if the Prozac stops your mind from dwelling on bad/sad thoughts, it's truly amazing. I'm really not a fan of Sertraline. 😡

How long have you been on Prozac?  Did you have horrible side effects?

how long before you felt like you?

thks

No side effects at all! Amazing I know because many claim to have them. I've been on them for six to eight weeks, can't be more accurate as my memory is still rubbish. I think that if a drug isn't changing the way you feel with eight to twelve weeks, then it is time to try something else. It's very much a case of 'horses for courses', in other words, it may affect others differently. However, if what you are taking now isn't working, why stay on it. Go and have a chat to your GP and tell them what's going on for you and take it from there. Good luck and I hope you find your 'magic' pill soon.

Hi I think it depends on the person.  I am on sertraline 150 mg a day (increased from 100 mg) and it made the world of difference to me.

I found that I didn't get on with Prozac at all or mirtazapine.    Bev x

My dr wants to up me to 150mg from 100.  When did you increase.  I am happy it has made a difference.  Any side effects?
