I started peri-meno four years ago with a bang (age 47). I was at work and had my first ever panic attack and ended up the in hospital because I was sure I was having a heart attack. I had four panic attacks over the next two years and developed horrible anxiety. My ears buzzed, my head felt like it was in a vice, my extremities tingled, and I had internal vibrating in the core of my body and also my face. I had hot flashes and night sweats, too. My periods were about every 2-3 months. A year ago, my periods started coming every 40 days and all of my symptoms seemed to go away. Currently, my last period was in April and I have started having all the ugly symptoms again. By far the worst is the internal vibrating, seems more severe this time. I'm hoping that these will soon be a distant memory!
Are you any better Margo?...
I also feel like having internal vibrations. It appears when I try falling asleep. It is like sudden whooshig in my body and head, then I am immediately awake with a start and anxious feeling. Sometimes it happends at night and makes me awake.
Still do not know what to do. It is annoying, makes me more anxious.
You describe very well what I experienced last night, it was awful and it took several hours to get back to sleep. I still am sitting here with a head which feels out of order.
Do you think it is related to (peri)menopause?
Dear Lindathepinda,
I believe it is part of the peri, but there are also other things. My feelings started one month ago with seasonal depresion. I do not feel well during fall every year, someting only for a couple of days, sometimes for one or two months, when it is dark and cold. I do my hobbies, sports, but the fall depression is something biological, and neither any good dinner nor movie help. And at the same time my sleeping problems appeared this year. I think I am in the last phase of the peri, have many physical and psychological symptoms, and I try to cope with them, and sometimes, it is really hard.
About the weird feeling - as if my body and mind do not cooperate when I want to sleep.
Dear Lena, I think we're in the same boat. I feel like I'm in peri due to all kind of bodily changes and haven't be able to function normally since 3 years and I also have issues with the current season. I use a daylight lamp to support a normal circadian rhythm, but it helps just a little for that, it improves my mood though..
Of all complaints I find the buzzing, the brain zaps and the short circuits when I'm trying to sleep the hardest. I'm totally exhausted at bedtime and just want to rest and have lots of peaceful sleep after a day of feeling miserable, and even that doesn't function properly. It's like you say: your body wants to turn off but your brain is not able to relax. Or the other way around, it's a mess really.
I hope that the coming years will bring us some relief, life isn't that much fun like this is it?
I have started having these I thought I was going to pass out twice yesterday its terrible along with nausea .I have been on HRT for three weeks now .
Dear Lindathepinda,
Life is not easy in peri, that is true.
I believe that season depression plays a part too, it is dark an cold, I am sleepy all the day and when I want to sleep at night, my body simply does not want to.
Vibrations, zaps , etc.are the results, very frustrating, set my health anxiety high, and make thinks worse. Plus night sweats, general weakness. I try to keep myself busy all the day, problems seem to be worse when I pamper myself.
I can barely remember what it feels like not to have internal vibrations, it is draining. I have had it fairly constantly now for a year. I had a sub hysterectomy 4 years ago so it is very difficult for me to know how many months I am in to the menopause. I am 50. If I did not read and learn of other women's similar experience I think I would be in a darker place. Just to understand that others are also dealing with this issue gives me some strength to battle on. Anxiety kicks in on its own accord, my blood pressure has increased and don't mention the weight gain. Nearly a stone and a half in 3 years. I have found the perimenopause and menopause to be the most difficult time in my life because it is so drawn out and I have experienced every single symptom. Not a pleasant time.
Hello kay98250 I'm wondering if your still having symptoms? I started maybe a year ago with the same symptoms. I would lie down to sleep and just doze off when I'd get a tingling all over my body then this annoying vibration maybe adrenaline and it would have me wide awake for hours. Not sure if I get too tired and fall asleep by 3am or I just deal with it and fall asleep but either case it's an aweful feeling to not be able to sleep. Well it use to happen once a month in the beginning but now it's happened 4days straight. I do take ativan as needed an i can sleep through it when I take it but it's not something they want you to take daily. What ever can this be?
This describes me to a T. The drs don't know what to think about it. Ugh.
Hi im 49 still having period sonly missed 2 4 months ago
Have had anxiety all my life, but have had these awful vibrations inside my body for few weeks now
Buzzing in ear , palitaions, ahhh I feel like in going mad
Doctor prescribed with propanol 40mg 3 times a day wen needed
Hate taking tablets so anxious about that aleady
My sister describes menopause as "a very dark period in her life". I remember her husband taking her from doctor to doctor because she thought she was going crazy. She did get better, she still has the occasional bout of depression and vaginal dryness.
My symptoms started late. I was four years into it before I had symptoms. Today it's depression and crying jags. I'm just praying and praying, that all we ladies will feel like ourselves again.
Ser deficiente en D3 también puede causar vibraciones. ¿Te han examinado por ello? ¿Rara vez te expones al sol?
Hello, So glad I found this site. I have had the same internal vibrating from head to toe since april 2016. Wake up every morning with it and constant all day. My ears also humm all the time. My dr put me on xanax 3 times a day thinking it was major anxiety . Don't think so after reading all this. I'm 56 and going out of my mind. I was wondering about the Bach Flower someone mentioned on here. I take 1grain of nature thyroid but pretty sure that's not it. Had a hysterectomy back in 2010. I just want to sleep!! Thinking about seeing a new Naturalpath Dr to see if she could help.
Thank you so much. I don't feel alone anymore. Dr has 0 clue what I'm even describing..
Thank You
But I am only 24, i have internal and external vibration both. It's about 6:00AM and I still can not sleep I feel so much fear inside me. Please someone help me whats wrong with me.
Sounds like anxiety to me.
I’d go and visit your GP if I were you.
It’s def not a nice feeling and you sound panicky.
Anxiety leads to panic attacks.
Anxiety is about the worry, fear and scary physical Sensations in your mind and your body.
Hello, I'm in the same boat. Someone said on here that its anxiety and go see your GP. My mother and sister passed away 5 years ago within 3 months apart. I know what anxiety is and this is not anxiety. Did they not read all the post on this subject. I was taking 1mg xanax 3 times day and did nothing for this vibrating.
Hi Cass63, I'm like you nervous and jumpy at everything, since your last time on here have you got any better.
