I've been experiencing these body vibrations/buzzing for about 2 months now. It started out mostly at night waking me up between 1am to 4am..if I try to sleep through it it gets worse and even into my head. I've had several really bad mornings where its been so bad I get out of bed in a panic wondering what is wrong...of course this has lead to very little sleep the last couple months. Lately it goes on all day too. At night I can "calm" it with a glass of wine but only to wake up vibrating again. I've been taking anxiety meds and they have no effect. Tried muscle relaxers and they have no effect. I've changed my diet and taking vitamins with no effect. I'm 50 years old and pre pausel as I've had on full period I'm 7 months. Im so tired of dealing with this. Anyone else having this same thing? If so what have they done about it?.I have a doctors app. in two days.

I honesty think it's just part of menopause. I have been living with this symptom since '09. Some days are worse than others. Sometimes the shaking is visible, not just inside. I will feel so nervous and jumpy. I haven't found anything that helps. I have basically had to learn to deal with it. Everyone tells me this too shall pass. Take care

Lo tengo y tengo tirones musculares. Uso magnesio, me ayuda mucho

Hiya

I feel for you I've been having this weird symptom on and off I'm in year nine of perimenopause

I've not had a period for 10 months and it's getting worse almost constant

I sometimes think it's my heart beat but when I take my pulse and blood pressure it's fine

This bout has lasted a week and has sent my anxiety into overdrive another of my peri symptoms

I feel so on edge constantly with it

I'm not in any meds and every test I've ever had comes back normal thyroid included even though I have a nodule on my thyroid its functioning normal according to tests

I'm so drained with all these years of it

I've had every symptom then some

I keep reminding myself I've had it before and it's passed but the constant internal vibration is just awful

Hope u feel better soon x

Thanks..ill try magnesium.

HOLA

Yo también tuve vibraciones internas y externas. Soy posmenopáusica y puedo confirmar que desaparecerán. Me volvieron loca.

Thank God for this forum! I had the internal vibrations for about a year or so. I thought I was crazy, then one day they were just gone, although I still get the occasional ringing in the ears. I would notice the vibrations mostly at night while trying to fall asleep. It's absolutely insane what hormonal changes can do to your body.😥😣

I started these vibrations in my sleep after taking serzone and celebrex in my late twenties.  I don't get them often anymore, but always figured it came from those medications.  Have you been on any meds since they started?  They could not have been a menopause symptom in my late twenties.

Hi kay, I'm glad you posted this. I have them too since a few years, I'm 48. They are awful, it makes me feel unstable and weak. From reading the other answers at least now I know it's probably hormones. I also have Lyme disease so I never know what is coming from where, many symptoms are quite similar to (peri)menopause.

I'm going to call my GP today and ask for an appointment to discuss HRT, I'm totally done with feeling sickly all the time and not being able to function as a normal human being. I will have to work till I'm 70 so I need a solution to get going again otherwise I'll have to spend the rest of my life in poverty due to these @#!! hormones.

Please let us know how things went for you at your GP. Perhaps we can share our experiences with this specific complaint and help each other.

As expected I went to my Dr. and told her my symptons which have continued every night since my last post. She told me she has never heard of such a thing. She says it could be my nerves in a "fight or flight" mode due to anxiety. ( I'm already taking anxiety meds...Buspirone. She wasn't concerned about hormones and has never heard of body vibrations during menapause. She took blood and is testing my thyroid. I've started taking vitamin B-12, multivitamins, Magnesium last week with no effect yet. I do have an oppointment the end of this month with a doctor that deals just with medicine management and specializes in anxiety. I just can't help but think these "vibrations" are connected to menaupase. I've dealt with anxiety and panic attacks my whole life and never have had these symptoms. If anyone has any ideas on relief from this please post.

I was on three different anxiety medications over a year ago. I didn't start taking buspirone again untill these "vibrations" started a couple months ago.

I think your doctor needs to read up on forums more, there are plenty of reports on this by (pre)menopausal women, see above and other forums. These vibrations are totally different from the ones I get when I'm feeling nervous. They feel really deep inside, especially in my pelvis and upper legs. I haven't been nervous for quite a while (I'm not the nervous or anxious type really) but have these vibrations 24/7.

I think it's peculiar your doctor isn't concerned about hormones considering your age. It should be the first thing to consider for a doctor who is treating 'vague' complaints.

If I were in your shoes I would ask for your hormones to be checked or switch doctors.

I was planning to see my dr. this week but felt too miserable to go. Will try again next week though, and ask for HRT.

Nunca me he sentido tan mal en mi vida.

Lisa..it is hard to explain what the vibrations feel like but your so right...like electric..pulsating sometimes...mine started at 2am..I drank a half a glass of wine and it calmed down so I tried to relax a little before work. I work 13 hour days watching 12 to 15 kids a day. My body was vibrating all morning so I finally gave into half a pill of ativan..I got it from a friend..not a doctor. I seemed to be better all day until I sat down after work and could feel the buzzing through my body...this could be a long night...I too think this is one of the most horrible things I've gone through and people around me don't understand.

Yes the vibrations are deep inside. Not on my outer skin. it doesn't hurt but is so annoying it makes it hard to sleep.

That's interesting! Did she get rid of all the symptoms? And do you by any chance know which HRT she is on exactly?
