I experienced the same thing for about a year.after bowel movements plus anxiety surges. Nothing really stops it. I practice Yoga and mindfulness and was able to not lose my mind totally. When my hormones settled the internal buzzing stopped. My peri experience was fast and furious 13 months in and out.. Good luck to you!
I went through 13 months of the same thing. I had to get on the patch because i also took 2 mg of estradiol and it gave me anxiety, depression and panic. I am on the combipatch (what a godsend) I calmed down within 8 hrs of putting the patch on and getting rids of oral HRT. The buzzing in my head goes along with eating and bowel movements (so basically constant buzzing) Its almost like you can feel your metabolism in your head. I felt it a lot driving in the car. If I kept busy not so much. No pain, I changed my diet take thyroid meds. But I kept feeling this weird buzzing in my head and other vibrations and movement until my hormones decided to settle. Doctors have no idea why. Try and not get scared. It will go away. I though I was going to die or lose my mind. yoga, mindfulness and being patient. Good Luck to You!
I experienced your symptoms and more for 13 months. I am on the patch, Combipatch, Thyroid meds and changed my diet. No gluten dairy caffeine or alcohol. My symptoms have let up about 3 weeks ago. My hormones may be settling. I never though the buzzing, ringing, anxiety, panic would go away. try Yoga and mindfulness meditation. Things really wont be perfect until your body decides to settle. Doctors do not really understand. Its not in our heads. It is real. Good Luck!
I had the same thing and avoided benzos. I am on 28 mgs of effexor and count out the pellets. Things will not stop fully until the hormones settle. I practive yoga, mindfulness avoid gluten dairy, alcohol and caffeine. I totally understand anxiety surges panic depression. I wanted to die at one point. I sleep and rest a lot say no to people and not feel guilty. De-stress because nothing really makes it perfect but you can manage until your hormones settle. It was 13 months of torture. I am 51 now and on the combipatch as well the oral hrt gave me horrible depression and anxiety.
I had the same thing. it will only stop when your hormones settle. Try and be calm. Yoga, mindfulness, meditation and keep busy. I though i was losing my mind. I am on the Patch and effexor. Even Doctors at Cleveland Clinic had never heard of such strange symptoms. But they are real not in our head and you will be ok. I changed my diet (no alcohol, caffeine, gluten or dairy) and take thyroid meds. But the Buzzing and electric pulses were weird and unwanted no pain though. Good Luck! P.S. I stay away from benzos they are very addictive try SSRI or SSNRI's if you need them and start with the lowest dose. They are not addictive.
Hi! I’m glad I found this. Last year almost exactly I started having this “buzzy” feeling. Hard to describe but close to what I’m reading here. At the beginning of/right before my period I would this. Like I’m near some kind of electric current. Slight buzzing.
One day last year while I was driving I had this stranger feeling like my body got very heavy. I can only describe it as a feeling of going up an elevator really fast. This scared the hell out of me and caused some very fast heart rate, and caused a fight or flight mode which was super scary. It happened the next month around the start of my period. Last year I got blood work done, heart halter monitor, and a treadmill stress test. Everything was fine.
I got that buzzy feeling around the time of the month. Felt better a few days into it. Wasn’t so bad and I dealt with.
I did decide to lose some weight and get excercise. I’ve lost 30 lbs.
Then last week I felt buzzy — out of no where on Friday I got the heavy feeling. Still had the same fight of flight but I was more calm. Wasn’t that bad. Then all day Monday I had that buzz feeling at work. To the point my face felt a little tingly. Then Tuesday evening the heavy feeling came back.
Then to the day I was back at the doctors office trying to explain my symptoms. They did a full blood work and all looks normal. They want to do an ultra sound on my gall bladder area.
Afterwards I feel so sleepy.
Has anyone else felt that heavy/fast elevator going up feeling along with this buzziness?
I’m 40 years old.
Thanks in advance.
TR.
I use to have it. I got really hot "when I got to the top" feeling. I felt it was some kind of hot flash. I have gone to the Dr and had the same tests done, halter monitor, sleep apnea, stress test, blood work and all found nothing wrong with me. I think that's why there is no concern on my Dr's cause they can't find anything and I'm still alive. It's frustrating.
Yes. I did get a warmth flash. Kind of like I got flushed. Then heart raced and I got all jittery.
What is this?
I’m sitting at the doctors office. They want an ultra sound of my gall bladder. Since i complained about that buzzy feeling and then a heaviness starting above my belly button. That pull before that elevator feeling that sends my body into fight or flight.
well I weaning off paxil back in sept 2017 and that went very well. I have talked to a couple nurses and since i have only been taking 1 mg a night of xanax that might body could be going through withdrawals since the life span is very short. I have had the worst week. nausea , insomnia and just very edgy. U have a dr appt on Monday and might have to get the xanax back in my body for a couple weeks and then do a slow taper. And will also talk to her about some hormone supplements .
Unfortunately no, I am still dealing with this. Some days not as bad as others, but still have the shakiness.
This might be slightly off topic but perhaps related. Friday I had an ultrasound on my gallbladder, kidneys, liver. Because I complained of that pull feeling whenever I had that heavy/elevator/buzzy feel. And they found gallstones.
She wants to set up a surgery consult.
Have any of you experienced this as part of trying to figure out the issue. I’m told it is seen quite a bit in women 40+ years, and somewhat related to hormones.
Hi Susan. I'm 6 years post menopausal and vibrations and muscle twitching for about a year now. I'm curious if you've experienced other symptoms not typically associated with menopause? I also get joint and muscle pain, sometimes debilitating. I don't quite meet the criteria for fibromyalgia and my Naturopathic doctor is at a loss for answers. Why did it take 7 MRI's? I've been wondering if I should pursue that possibility. I agree, it's very frustrating Good luck with biopsy.
Ayuda mucho.
Thanks for sharing your story crystal, it indeed is frustrating that doctors don't want to hear about complaints which aren't in their textbooks.
At the moment I'm investigating the effect of Low Frequency noise on my health (after going through about the same medical mill as you, including the CPAP.) We have got a Hum (see http://www.thehum.info/) in this region and this faint, low, droning diesel-like noise is driving me nuts lately and I suspect it to be the cause of many of my health complaints including the internal vibrations, the little 'earthquakes', and insomnia (waking up at 4AM).
There are several scientific papers on LF to cause all kinds of sensations, including the feeling of the earth feeling wobbly, feeling vibrations in objects (like your bed at night) and internally.
The problem is that most people are not aware of this low frequency noise (not everyone can hear it) and have no clue where their complaints are coming from, so it is difficult to get research done and politicians to take action.
Maybe you are LF noise sensitive too?
Did it ever come back?
Ok so I've been to my new PCP and told her what was going on and she ordered blood work. She is one that wants to find answers to all her patients issues. So it turns out I'm not premenopausal and my HDL is extremely low. Anybody else with cholesterol problems?
