Okay so i'm 16 and i'd say i'm healthy apart from my asthma & mental health. Lately I've been convincing myself i have hodgkin's lymphoma,all because of some lymph nodes in my neck. These lymph nodes go down and then up again, they have some tenderness and are NOT hard and they move when touched. I have a tight chest and a little bit of a cough (could be my asthma?) I have blocked sinuses but no runny nose (i can tell because when i talk it feels weird and it's really nasely) i have no other symptoms of this apart from swollen glands?? I have also had some tenderness around my left clavicle but there is no abnormalities or lumps around here. My mother is a medical professional and swears to me i do not have it but i can't get it out of my head! I also ask her to check ALL my lymph nodes every single day. I have also been to the doctors twice, once in december because of this fear (he told me it's normal for lymph nodes to be up around this time of year because of colds) I'm also terrified of going to the doctors incase they tell me i have it. I trust my mother but i can't think otherwise. Sorry this is super long. Im so scared

You are scaring yourself to death. Lymph nodes on the sides of the neck definitely can go up-and-down. I have had that happen for many years on and off especially when I have a virus. My kids get them and almost everyone I know has that once in a while. If you really want to be relieved of this worry all it takes is a blood test. If you're too afraid to get that you're going to feel miserable forever.
The lymph nodes on the sides of the neck are the ones that are not harmful. Don't do what I did which is worry about symptoms for over 20 years and nothing ever happened to me. I could have been enjoying those years.
you need to be strong and fight for yourself. Our minds go to the negative if we allow it and it seems like you're allowing it.
go get the blood test and get it over with then you can get on with your life and stop worrying. Are you aware that negative thinking actually can make you physically sick? It's very true
Your unfound fears are going to drive you mad, if you dont get on top of them.
The intrusive thights about your health are fuelling the anxiety.
You need to speak openly to your mum and doctor about the fears your having.. And nip this in the bud.
Anxiety about health or any other thing plays games with you physically and you can experience all kinds of symptoms.
They cannot harm you but will make you feel anxious and uncomfortable..
Get some professional advice and get your life back on track.
Then you can start enjoying your life again.....

thank you so much!! My health anxiety is sooo bad, i have been to the doctor about it and he referred me to therapy but said i can see him anytime. My mum knows everything about it, I always tell her because i get her to check me.

Anxiety does make you feel ill, it creates so many physical Symptoms that feel horrendous. But reacting to them feeds the anxiety and a cycle begins.
The therapy should help but it can take a while before the physical symptoms subside but as long as you know that and dont get freaked by them you will be ok...
Read up on mindfulness and its benefits of dealing and beating anxiety..
It takes some time but it does help xx

Some of the talks can go on a bit but it is very helpful and the success rate is very good
You seriously need to be in therapy. You have intrusive Thoughts and ocd going on and there is a way to mange it so you can be rid of being owned by these thoughts. They sell anxiety workbooks. Get one and start there. You do not have cancer. You have the thiught of having cancer and you beliethe thought not the reality of it. Believe this is anxiety producing this, anxiety is owning you and its manifesting in health. Not a good idea to ignore this see if you can discuss this with your parents and at least get a workbook. They are sold online, they are all good.
I have blocked sinuses and have been getting swollen lymph nodes on and off for over a year now. Do you get post nasal drip? I have it all the time and i'm pretty sure thats what makes my lymph nodes swell up.
I have the exact same thing with bumps going up and down on my body and it freaks me out sometimes too, also my family has a history of Hodgkins lymphoma so it used to mess with my head alot. I've had those bumps for years and I'm not dead yet if it makes you feel better lol and my dad has them too. If it bothers you that much though then you should go get checked and remember not to be scared to go to the doctor because even if you do have it, it's better to discover it early rather than when it's too late.
