I have the same problem of a racing heart that sometimes skip beats. Mine started as a result of stress related to an illness. I became very scared by nerve pain that I got from the illness. So, I developed panic attacks and an anxierty disorder. I have also been to doctors who tell me all my tests are normal. I have been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder. I think what you are having is panic attacks. I sometimes wake up with my heart racing and it scares me so much I feel like I am having a heart attack. I have discovered that a racing heart is a common symptom of panic attacks and of anxiety. I am doing a lot better now because I have found ways to calm myself.

You need to read about how to deal with anxiety disorders so that you can regain some peace of mind. Your next call should be to a psychologist who specializes in anxiety disorders so that you can start some talk therapy to get at what started your panic attacks. Also, try doing relaxation exercises, eat only healthy food--don't use sugar, caffeine or alchohol. Focus on things that relax you when you feel a panic attack coming. Good luck.

thank you i will and it is a crazy feeling plus i was thinking about seeing another cardiologist i dont know if i should doe

As I said in my other post, since you have already seen two cardiologists and they couldn't find anything wrong, if I were you, I would now call a psychologist to talk to them about your racing heart and find out if you are having panic attacks. At least give it a try.

whats that therapy ? and are you good now and was your heart racing mostly all the time and havingn chest pains at times ?

I'm in He same boat as you...racing heart when I wake up, when I'm just sitting; it's so scary! I have generalized anxiety disorder with panic attacks

I did a chest x-ray, ekg and blood work all came back normal...

The doctors tell me it's just anxiety

I have my first appt to see a therapist about my anxiety on may 15 I've had this since oct 2009 at just 28 years old and I've always been able to control it.

Till last month it came back and I had 2 panic attacks I called 911 for.

It's debilitating but I am a mother of 3 and I want to be here for them, so I am trying my best to think more positive and not let this take over my life.

Please try drinking water, do deep breathing, maybe chamomile tea. It has helped me in the past.

I am on lorazepam but I haven't take it since 2010 and recently last month when the panic attacks happened.

They put me on Paxil but that gave me a panic attack.

So I don't want to try anything else.

Take care!

yeah my heart goes super fast for nothing like plus i have 24/7 sythoms feel like im going crazy and i have paxil never took and i have beta blocker that i only take it sometimes when i think my heart is going super fast

wifeymamalei,

It seems like we have similar anxiety disorders. For me, prescription drugs only make me worse, so I understand how you feel. Like you, I am using alternative ways to try to calm myself. Learning ways to help myself relax and stay positive seem to work well. Good luck to you.

You are not alone in your struggle with an anxiety disorder.

johnnie,

I suggested you call a psychologist who specializes in anxiety disorders.

This doctor will help you find ways to cope with your problem.

I am doing a lot better than I was but I still have a racing heart sometimes.

When I get the heart racing, I take several deep breaths and I tell myself I am not going to die. You have focus on convincing yourself that you are not having a heart attack and you are not going to die. You need to use ways to calm your mind and focus on deep breathing so your heart will stop racing.

Yeah i think it is but i dont know how my mind can do all this because i reslly feel it

johnnie,

Your physical symptoms are REAL. Your heart really is racing. Anxiety disorders can cause real, unpleasant physcial symptoms. You need to find a way to help yourself ease the symptoms. Look through some of my posts on this website or those of others to find out ways to help you calm down so you can ease your heart racing issues. Also, as I have written several times, call a psychologist who will help you learn ways to stop your panic attacks. Just talking to a good psychologist should help you!

Yeah because it goes out of control like really fast when it happens or beats hard

yeah because my heart goes super fast like sometimes it goes out of control and beats hard then really fast even my chest is started to hurt cuzz of that and back and neck crazy feeling but yeah you mean therapy?

All your symptoms seem related to an anxiety disorder. You have already seen several doctors who all told that you don't seem to have anything wrong with you except anxiety. For now, you should accept that you have a stress related problem or an anxiety disorder and you should seek help from a psychologist. Also, research ways to teach yourself to relax. Also, stop smoking pot since it does seem to be agree with you!

Thank you so much!

At times I feel like I'm going crazy and I feel like not doing anything because I'm afraid an attack will come on.

It feels good to know I am not alone.

Good luck to you and everyone else who is suffering from this.

yeah no problem so you think i shouldnt see another cardiologist ?

johnnie,

I'm not a doctor. I'm just a person who is struggling like you are with an anxiety disorder. I can't advise you not to go to another cardiologist.

It just seems like the doctors you have already seen are all telling you the same thing--that you have stress related symptoms not heart problems.

Why not try seeing a psychologist? If you still feel you need to see another cardiologist, do that, too. But, definitely go to see a PhD psychologist as well!

If it helps ease your mind, you can see another one for another opinion but I think if there others have already told you're fine and tests are normal then don't waste your time.

It's hard but it's more trying to calm yourself, and thinking positively

Tell yourself you're ok as hard as it sounds only you can co tell how you react to what you're going through.
