Coração acelerado.

I've just been woken by a feeling of restlessness, a sudden urge to get up and move around. I recognised the feeling from a few years ago, when I'd had low potassium and had to go on a drip. So I quickly measured my heart rate - 100bpm and I'd just woken up! A few minutes later and I'm back at 57bpm. I should add I'm not fit, just have a fairly low resting heart rate. Anyone else experienced this who's linked it to perimenopause?

Hi there,
yes, I have experienced this a few times, and exactly how you describe. Always when I’m in bed and just drifted off to sleep. I always explain it to be like an almighty adrenaline rush. I’ve noticed that it happens more when I’m over tired and due my period. When it happens, it’s so overwhelmingly frightening!! Scares me so much. I force myself to get up out of bed and usually end up pacing the hallway and then contact someone, i.e - friend, family member to inform them of what’s happening. This usually helps to calm and re assure me.

Thank you for your reply. It was a horrible feeling, I was suddenly panicky for no reason, terrified it would get worse, out of my control. Having been sleeping well either, which I’m sure doesn’t help. Take care & hope this stage passes soon for both of us x
