Over a year ago, I started having this itching on the external vaginal area (labia majora). It itches and stings, but i never noticed any specific bumps. However, when I scratch it even if i try not to, it tears the skin and creates small cuts or sores. They can bleed and make urinating very painful. I saw an OBGYN last october and she told me to see a dermatologist, and my PAP smear came back negative for anything. She did find molluscum though that ive been trying to treat. The infection is random and the time it stays varies. This time was the first time i noticed specific spots or bumps, but i dont know if they were there before or if i caused them from scratching. I havent had the money to see a dermatologis and im starting to really freak out now. Any ideas? I included photos of external and internal. SIDE NOTE: there has been no odor and no change in discharge
Hi, when you first started to get the itchy feeling a year ago, did you get tested for BV ? BV is very notorious for coming back and is very hard for some to get clear as is molluscum . Are you taking medication or antibiotics ? Sometimes medicine your taking can cause adverse effects on your vagina health. Can you remember if anything happened to the very beginning of this problem ? Your vagina looks very inflamed and irritated, this could be the reason you have the bumps like when you have a yeast infection you van develop bumps.
Thank you so much for the reply! No, I did not get tested for BV. My obgyn didnt really talk to me much about it and told me to see a dermatologist. I’ve been terrified its been some sort of recurring STD/STI but it doesnt seem to have the same symtpoms of those so Ive been so confused. I do take medications for a hormone imbalance but i cant remember if this started before or after that medication.
