Hello all.. new to the forum but have been closely following ..I have almost alll the symptoms from breathlessness, jitters, to elevated bp (name it) but last night was a fright for me as I just couldnt swallow my food..I thought I was going to die😥..
I do pray a lot which keeps me from going insane..
Had my chest x-ray(normal) no diabetes..no thyroid issues..just my vitD level was very low..
Need reassurances from you strong lovely ladies that it will pass..

Hey I'm with you Amanda! I've been in Peri at least 3 years and have had no period since July 21, 2016. My doctor said if I make it to August 1st I've reached menopause! It seems anticlimactic with all the symptoms i have now. I too, have had about 60 of the 64 symptoms listed. I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis 27 years ago, had a total knee replacement last year, but feel horrible for at least part of the day everyday for the last year. My neurologist says Peri makes everything worse and it's so true. I've had dizziness/vertigo for 27 years and it's much worse now, in addition to allergies and asthma you name it. I hope things get better and soon for all of us and wish you all the best.
Dear Coralsue.. thank you for the reply..I just cant imagine the things we have to go through..I am on the edge most of the time but pray it will pass..I ve been on the peri for the past 5 years or so..try to deal with a symptom and when I am slowly overcoming that a new one hits me..very distressing..still hanging here..cheers to all you wonderful and BRAVE ladies!!
Hugs and prayers.
Hi! These symptoms can come on suddenly and be so scary too. The anxiety is a killer!!! The rapid, fluttery heart beat.,,
Praying you are feeling better. Praying is what helps me too!!
This will pass!! xx
Hi Amanda92033 - It is clear that some of us ladies do suffer a form of anxiety with all these bodily changes. Not saying you have it, but when under stress it can cause difficulty in swallowing food.
If it persist though, one can always get an appointment with a specialist and undergo a gastroscopy and you do not suffer from reflux.
I also suffer from difficulty of swallowing my food occationally, but know mine is caused due to aniety.
Hang in there, I pray a lot too, and will pray for you too. It seems like some of us do fear insanity, but I am sure all of this will eventually pass.
XOXO
Dear Amanda
I had an episode where I felt it hadnt gone down properly and I kept coughing to clear it, I have an hiatas hernia so I dont know if that didnt help but it was a horrible feeling x

Apparently my last visit to the doc did show my vit D deficiency to a low level..took tabs for about 2 months which was the prescribed dose..have started taking them again.
I am almost 45 and not to mention my monthlies playing wonkers with me..I miss a month and have two the next😈. I am definitely into my peri..with all the other symptoms with a nice topping of anxiety.
Btw my mom was done with everything at 45, I believe we follow their cycle..dont know how much of it is true.
Cheers
Amanda,
I know what it is like to feel desperate so Im going to sugest see an ENT maybe htere is an issue there. Did you throat close up or you forgot how to swollow. I have had that happen where I would need to think for a sec how to . I know that sounds strange.
Hi Kris..it just felt like I'd forgotten how to swallow just for a sec though. I am always clearing my throat thinking there's something stuck there..ofcourse there's nothing!!
Going back to my Vit D to see if it works..the thought of the doc scares me to bits specially with this gloom and doom feeling looming all the time.. did have an apt with my gp...found out was low onVit D.otherwise everything fine.
How did you cope with this issue? Do you still have it?
Thanks
not sure ,, my mom was early i was not ,, im 55 now and had all removed radical hysterectomy in the end ,, i hope you get some answers sweetheart us ladies have a tuff time xx
