Came up about five days ago, worse this morning

this is the 5th or 6th time, same location in about 3 years. very concerned…

feeling much worse.. i can feel the pain in my muscle and is shooting down my leg and back. only on the left side :(((

i dont think herpes but definitely something to seena doctor about

could possibly be herpes 1, but i doubt it. Your best bet is to go to the doctor and get tested to see what it is. Best wishes.

i just cant think or can find anywhere online what else it could be. i am filled with anxiety
this is like i said the 5th or 6th time the last 3 years, 2-3x a year, in the same exact location. It eventually blisters (?) but are extremly small and then the entire lesion becomes dry but not like a scab. it started a few day (4-5) as just 2 and has gotten worse. cramps, pain directly behind in the muscle and shooting pains down my leg

any ideas what it could be? i got to the dr later this week

definately looks and sounds like varicella zoster virus, herpes variant highly similar to herpes 1/2 (causes chickenpox at first and zoster when reactivated)

has your immune system been very weak lately?

yes, i have pcos and endo so my cycles are long and heavy. i had just gotten off a 22 day ycle, heavy and started a new job working 3 week stretch when this occured. i was going to mention i normally have an “outbreak” post cycle (not everyime) or when i am under a lot of stress… this makes since.. i had chicken pox twice as a child and my mother has outbreaks of shingles.. thank you for your feedback! i will confirm on this post once im seen so anyone else with similiar symptoms know the status

have you ever got it swabbed!
if not you definitely should. Not 100% it is hsv but that can come up anywere in the boxer short region!

hi all,

as promised i said i would return with results… my outbreak(s) is indeed shingles! ive never met anyone my age with shingles, crazy. but i am grateful for this diagnosis vs what i feared it could be. ty to all that took the time to reply and write on this thread.
