Cholestérol élevé mais poids sain

Hello,

I am under 30 and during my last blood panel I was told I have "boderline high cholesterol."  I am a vegetarian, exercise every day, I have a low-fat diet, and am a healthy weight.  What can I do to bring my cholesterol down to the healthy range?  Is there any reason why it would have been "spiked" accidentally on the blood panel based on what I ate or high stress levels that day or something?

Thanks!

Hi. I am in my 50's and I'm the same as you as I'm not overweight either and with cutting out chocolate and some dairy products I have lost weight which I can't afford to do now. Saw a locum doctor yesterday regarding another health issue and asked  to explain my results I had done in October last year.(Total 6.1 HDL 1.8)  Got to wait until October this year for another test as it hadn't gone down in the previous 6 months. What was your results if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks for that link too Benny but now I am even more confused! lol My good cholesterol is 1.8 which is above 1.2 stated on there but my doctor says it should be over 2.0! When I divide 1.8 into my total cholesterol  6.1 it comes back as 3.38 which is well below the 4.5 desirable level. Therefore do I have a problem???
