im in the midst of my first gential herpes outbreak and ive been on the valtrex for 2 days now. BUT these are the worst pain ever! ive read baking soda burns so im glad i didnt try that. i dont have any lemon balm.

would neosporin ointment be okay and work for pain relief on the buttocks area?

it does burn! i used it on lips 2 months ago and this is what they still look like and always tingle and burn . think i burnt skin off

I doubt that Neosporin would help. It’s antibacterial not antiviral

Lignocaine / Lidocaine gel would numb the area for a few hours

Take a sitz bath! You can buy one at CVS, you basically just fill it with warm water and soak your genital area in it. This really helped me with discomfort during my first outbreak
