My panic attacks usually happen at night when I'm laying in bed. I hadn't had an attack for awhile now, I'm usually able to talk my way out of it. Last night I was laying in bed and just out of nowhere my heart starts pounding & I just get this feeling of doom come over me, like something bad (medically) was about to happen to me. Just that feeling alone is what actually makes my attacks worse b/c I'll seriously start to freak out over the feeling that I'm gonna pass out, like something just doesn't feel right. I was able to get up & distract myself but as soon as I layed back down the feeling happened again & once more until I fell asleep. The next morning I woke up and my heart rate was still elevated, it's not pounding but definitely higher than normal, I can feel it pulsating in my neck & I also feel a little jittery/dizzy. I was just wondering if others get symptoms like this after a panic attack ?
honestly, i've been feeling the same. i had two episodes of major panick attacks lately, but that was after i had many candies before going to bed and eating some different cereals, so idk if that's like an allergic attack but yeah i've been having hot flushes, and pounding heart and dizziness and that was like a vicious circle until I fell asleep.
in the morning everything's fine though, so that's different from your symptoms.
I read a really good advice yesterday - try saying something like "is that all you can do? show me your best" as in how big the panic attack can get, i tried that today and it worked but i also had my mind quite busy so idk yet
You’re anxiety may just be increased st the moment. I hate that. I get it too. Thinking an early night and a good nights sleep will help and when you wake up you’re heart is still racing. Distraction, eating healthy, meditation and exercise are all necessary to do on a daily basis. It takes me hours/days to get over a bout of anxiety sometimes. But it does get better. I just have to keep reminding myself that.
Yes this is quite common. Sugar increases the heart rate.
It may be a good idea to eradicate this from your diet and see if it helps.
Take care
