I started University last September and about a week after freshers ended I got really bad tonsillitis to the point where I couldn't drink water and I was crying with the pain. About a week after I finished my antibiotics for tonsillitis I got a chest infection. Following more antibiotics I was then fine for a few months and thought everything was okay. 

It wasn't until late December/early January that I started to feel extreme tiredness from everything I did. It started getting worse, meaning that whenever I had quite an active day I was completely exhausted the next day and had to stay in bed. It got to the point where even going to lectures meant that I was exhausted when I came home and with studying two languages I get work set after every lecture, however I was too tired to do it. 

The tiredness is still really bad and after many trips to the doctors I have only just found out that I have glandular fever, which explains all the tiredness I've been experiencing for the past 4 months. As it is exam season it seems to be getting worse, I'm not sure if stress is making it worse or if the tiredness is still just really bad. 

It has been 7 months since I had the infection yet my tiredness is still just as bad, if not getting worse. How long has everyone else's tiredness lasted because I am getting fed up of being so exhausted all the time and my flatmates are calling me unsociable for being in my room and in bed most of the time instead of going out and socialising with them.

How are you feeling after some time?

Try virgin organic coconut oil. You can take right out of the jar. I'm taking 4 TBS a day for mono. It is helping some. Hang in there!

Hi, sorry you still feel so awful! I am afraid that while you are still studying so hard and taking exams, the stress of this may be contributing to your delayed recovery. Do listen to your body and if you are tired you must rest. On better days take some gentle exercise like walking or a slow swim but don't push yourself or you may feel worse.

I know it is hard, but do not give up. Myself, it took a long time and just when you think you are ok, the tiredness returned. It seems to happen when you get a cold or any other illness and stress is a big problem. Some people find the tiredness can return on and off for a long time. Learn to go with it not fight it. OH AND DON'T LISTEN TO YOUR FRIENDS ABOUT GOING OUT...THEY WOULD PROBABLY BE THE SAME IF THEY FELT LIKE YOU DO! GOOD FRIENDS WILL STILL SOCIALISE BUT MORE QUIETLY!
