How ling will I suffer withdrawal symptoms? I am having constant brain zaps (My brain is on permanent vibrate mode!) and frequent headaches. I have reduced the dose over two months to nothing for a week now. How much longer will this last?
Hi there. My experience is this, After 11yrs on this med. I weaned myself off (advice from my GP) to 1 low dose every other day for about 10mths. This was last year. I did have wobbly days of course. It will take a while for your body to become accustomed to not receiving it's happy pill! We are all different so can't really say more. Has your GP advised you? Good luck in the meantime. It will get better.
there are many posts on here regarding longevity of withdrawal from Cit what is obvious is that there is no clear answer. I would suggest anything up to 3 months appears to be the general consensous with no account of dosage and time on the drug. It is very much up to the individual
I was on Cit for 6 weeks and had a bad reaction to it now off it for 8 weeks and yesterday was my first day where I felt normal for the most of the day.
Can't say how long it will take. Can only say that it will get better. Your body and mind are going through a major adjustment and it's not necessarily a comfy ride. What are you taking for the headaches? Paracetamol is best in this situation. Try and rest (this is easier said and done) if you aren't feeling much better in a week contact your doctor.
