How reliable is Herpes IGG 5 month test

I have done herpes IGG (gg) test at 1 week / 1 month / 2 month and 5 month after finding that the girl has hsv2. All my test came back negative except for hsv1 which I had it before please help me I am dead worried as I read some post I will need to wait for 6 months to do the test

No, you are fine. Stop worrying about it.

Hi FelizCastus,

Thank you for getting back to me really appreciate it just want to reconfirm whether is it possible for the results will change if I do re test at about 8 months

Besides the usual minor fluctuations, no, it should not change at 8 months assuming no new at-risk encounters in the interim.

Hi FelizCastus

Thanks you once again getting back to me was just wondering can the 5 months test result be false positive

IgM, yes. IgG, no, except in the case of HSV2, but *only* if you have pre-existing HSV1 (and the false positive would have shown up earlier as well, not suddenly at 5 months).

Hi FelizCastus,

Yes I has HSV1, I am worried now

But it would have shown up false positive months ago if that were going to happen in your case. Stop worrying. You're fine.

Hi FelizCastus,

I did  test yesterday pending for the results to come in I am have drianed out myself worrying about it.. Just to confirm that 5 months IGG test is conclusive once it shows negative it will never go positive if you are not exposed to it?

Correct.

Hi FelizCastus,

Just wanted to ask you another question I was exposed to hsv2 with a girl I met 9 months ago she confirmed she has it but I am not infected so my 5 months test is conclusive

If IgG negative 5 months from the last possible exposure, then you're in the clear, yes. You already asked that.
