How to get rid of anxiety chest tightness?

I’m a 17 year old student and I get stressed all the time from exams and I have anxiety. This week I’ve been having tightness in my chest along with the usual heart palpitations, and my anxiety is just making it worse. I haven’t seen a doctor, but I assume it’s anxiety as I’d say I’m pretty healthy and haven’t had a history of heart issues. However, I always think the worse and I don’t know how to calm myself down. Is anyone else having similar symptoms? Any tips on how to deal with it?

The solution for me in the past is to just ...stop thinking about it. THats way harder said than done but it helped when I had a lot of other things to worry about instead of my chest pain. Focus in your exams, go out as best as you can, find things to do. I believe posture and breathing exercises can help as well.

Hi.  There are some great meditations on you tube for your anxiety. I do this everyday when laying down to sleep.  They totally calm down my mind and body and symptoms.

Also listen to short meditation on breathing.  It helps you get control over your anxiety and keeps you focused.   One is called “Mindfulness breathing Guided meditation 10 minutes “. There are many others to choose from. And any topic like sleep, depression, etc.

Mindfulness teaches you to observe any negative thought (like thinking the worst)for a few seconds. Let it be there.  Then calmly watch it float off and dissolve.  Don’t try to fight it off because it will get worse.  Simply acknowledge it and watch it go.  Do this every time and eventually your brain will automatically do it.

Learning the breathing technique really helps!

Dont let fear take you over. Hang in there and don’t take life too seriously, just do your best because that’s all any of us can do.  Remember to do fun things once in a while for a break, eat healthy, exercise, and smile and laugh at little things.

Everything has a way of working out!   ❤️😁

The Buteyko breathing method can help you.
