I have been having many différent symtoms that leads me to beleive that i have ms. I thé past 2years i have had many épisodes of numbness on différent sides of my body, weakness in the legs, most recently loss of vision in my right eye which scares me terrible. My brain MRI came back with 3 lesions, then I had the spinal MRI which was normal. Does this mean this eliminates having ms. I am really scared and having a hard time getting good medical care from my doctor not sure what to do...when I loose my eyesight it goes black for 5 mins or so but then comes back. Can someone provide some advice
Other tests include the sensors record your nervous symptom’s response to the stimuli. Subsequent tests can tell doctors if myelin has been damaged. Longer response times typically indicate myelin damage. The delay in response may be so minor you can’t tell a difference, but the VEP test can detect such delays.
there are also other tests. It's all to verify diagnosis. I hope you will be doing well soon. There are remarkably amazing new drugs to stop and slow down the progression of MS.
Take one day at a time. No one ever finds it acceptable to cope with any disease , try to find all the knowledge you can about it be familiar with treatments and meds. Information & understanding will take a lot of the fear away and you will could also ask for counseling to help cope with the initial diagnosis.

I guess what I am looking for is that if my spinal MRI was normal driving does that rule out ms???
Hi, getting back a clear MRI result doesn't categorically eliminate MS, if someone has relapsing/remitting MS, it's possible that there's even been some recovery from damage. I didn't see a reference to you having had a lumbar puncture done, that's the most common 'other' test, they test your cerebrospinal fluid, looking for oligoclonic bands. Your vision problems aren't the issue usually reported by those of us with MS.

There are, currently, no drugs that 'stop and slow down the progression of MS' as your post states. Reading anything and everything about a medical condition, such as MS tends to lead the reader to a LOT of misinformation, not to mention having a tendency to freak them the hell out!
Hoping for a cure is one thing, but it's also better, some times, to be realistic, too.
Well i Will bé seeing à neurologist shortly. I hope i.can get some answers soon. I need to know what thé lésions in my brain are. If thé spinal mri came back normal, i would lime to think this is à positive sign. What scares me thé most is when i loose my eightsight out of thé blue. Always scares it wont come back. Thé numbness in my legs, arms so.etimes face i have tried to overcome thé fear.

These drugs hat have been recognized by the medical community do not cure MS, but they do reduce the frequency and severity of attacks and the development of new brain lesions. In addition, they slow down the progression of MS, reducing future disability.

I never ever would mislead anyone. There are new studies and bio drugs that have been used for relapse in MS as well.

The good news about those lesions on your brain, is that your Dr's aren't panicking and dragging you into hospital. Whatever is going on, they don't appear to require rapid treatment. MS (should it be diagnosed) isn't a lethal condition, so many of us around the world live with it. It isn't best 'house guest' admittedly, but it's possible to adapt to in.
