How to spot a mini-stroke: early signs and symptoms

Natalie Mackenzie, a brain injury expert and Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapist based in London, UK, explains that a mini-stroke typically lasts a short period - ranging from a few minutes to a few hours - before resolving on its own. However, she warns that a mini-stroke is a significant warning sign for a potential stroke.

My Mum, was 94 last Friday. We took her away over the weekend for a few days. I noticed her speech was inaudible at times and she is very wobbly on her feet. She really had a problem just moving her legs forward with a walker. She is overweight and still enjoys a glass of baileys each night and the odd cigarette and I know her diet is not too good. However, we are concerned she may have had a mini stroke-However, i have not noticed any affects with her face, so no visible signs of her face dropping. Her movement really isnt good and her speech is a worry. Could this be she has experienced a mini stroke or could it just be age, being overweight and diet.

Thanks and advice would be good
