i was tested positive for genital hsv1 a few years ago and have only had a few outbreaks since, none of which have been super intense at all. about 9 or so days ago i had sex and the next day was incredibly itchy both in/around vagina. nothing had relieved the itch and it was really bad so would occasionally itch w TP, tissue, etc. finally a couple days ago i noticed lesions - i was checking constantly though and never noticed any blisters until they were actually cuts. its now been 9 days of itching, and the past 3 days since noticing the lesions ive taken valtrex dose for recurring OB with no relief after completing 3 days 2x a day. so my questions are… is there any chance this isnt HSV and the lesions are actual wounds from itching? i havent had unusual discharge, altho have felt like ive noticed fishy odor so was thinking it could be BV, until i saw the lesions. and 2nd question, if it is HSV and valtrex didnt help (guessing i just took it too late since 6 days after itching started) is there anything else i should do or just wait it out? how long would this last? past OBs never lasted very long at all, not even a week ans this has been over a week.
also note i recently started birth control again and just had my first period since which im guessing is what triggered this, assuming it is hsv. attached pics as well
Its hard to say its something else bc it looks like sores. Buy dermaplast its suppose to help with itching. Epson salt baths etc. Look up natural remedies
