¡Ansiedad del marido! ¿Alguna recomendación, por favor?

For the last 5 months my husbands been suffering with anxiety.. mainly to do with our kids health. When he started having panic attacks we went to the doc who prescribed sertraline and I was recommended a private therapist. My husband got a lot bettter and the issues with him thinking that there was something wrong with the kids went. The therapist was very pleased and said that he couldn't do anymore for him and I thought the worst was over. The past week my husband has been very anxious again, crying etc. I need some advice on what to do. He is already on 100mg of sertraline and has been taking them everyday. Are the highs and lows to be expected? I feel useless!

Thank you

I have never taken that med, but I have had break though blights of anxiety and depression while on meds. I hope someone can help you more than I can. But know that you are supported.

Take care

B

Just simply be there for him. We just want someone that is there for us. Not necessarily understand us but just be there. Just be there every step of the way. Be there all the time.

I incourage you to take him back to the doc and have'm change the meds as soon as possible.

Have they run blood work to rule out anything else?

Sorry for your concerns, all I can advise is that you talk to your GP and work out a new treatment plan

Do you feel it is the same problem as before, an Anxiety or is it something else that is now causing His problems.

All I can advise over the short term is Relaxation Techniques as you husband seem to be on a mediation for His anxiety.

Look on Amazon there are books on Mindfulness a Relaxation Therapy I use an earlier technique and sometimes your GP may have tapes to help him relax.

If you feel His condition is very severe you could call the NHS Helpline on tel 111, they will triage and call out a Doctor to visit at home, sometimes your GP Practice may have a service arranged on their night line and you may be able to talk to a GP on that service.. They may not be from your practice.

Whatever you decide at least make an appointment with one of the GP in Practice on Monday explain the urgency if He is really bad

Regarding highs and lows it sounds like a depression, although I am not a GP and you will need medical advice.

One other thing that may help is look up your Practice on NHS CHOICES on the net and check which GP in Practice specialises in Mental Health, sometimes this can help to give a better service for your husbands problem

Thank you for your advice. This is not the same issue as before as that was one main issue that was cleared up with EDMR. Now we seem to get a different worry each day. It's like the medication has suddenly stopped working.

Thank you

Thank you for your reply. No they haven't. Do you know what else it might be down too? Many thanks J

Possibly the GP May change the medication although over the short term it may be a problem getting something into His system if He is bad now. There are other ways of medicating if He is very distressed, only your GP and Specialist can decide if that is needed. We are not Doctors and always bend to their knowledge.

Personally this sounds like depression, can you find out what has caused this outbreak. To know that may help you ease the situation you find Him in

Very good point "what has caused this outbreak" if he can talk about it, it may help releive some pressure.
