I have been diagnosed with HSV1 on genitals in march. Had one outbreak and nothing since. With the bf, we use condoms but not during oral. I have nothing right now, blisters or that tingling feeling etc. How contagious am I right now? He woke up with a sore throat and I am really sad and worried right now.
hi, it's a new relationship, I didn't get it from him and I got it receiving oral sex yes. I know HSV1 is the lesser of two evils but still... How contagious am I right now though when he give me oral sex? How are the chances of me passing it on without an outbreak? I'd probably give him HSV on the mouth and not on genitals if we always use a condom right? I'm still in my first year of being infected.
Are you on any antivirals?
A condom isn't 100%. You can still get hsv with the use of a condom. Since it is skin contact.
actually, they don't prescribe antivirals for HSV1 since the contagion rate is so low.
I wish there was a test we could do to see if we are shedding, like a ph strip or something! Thanks Felis
I've only beendiagnosed for three months so I guess it's a little too early to say. Hey, maybe it's the next step in this whole saga: finding a way to know when you are shedding. Might even be more reliable than current tests. Someone should get into that asap.
