Hyperthyroidism

Hi had my results back and now t4 18.5 from 43.5 so in range but my tsh still the same 0.01

Still feeling ill the worst is the brain fog and lightheaded

And what I don't understand is the weird numbing and tight feeling in my hands arms and legs sometimes tightness around the eyes

If my t4 is in range why do I feel so bad

If any one could explain why and if u have this weird sensation

I am still on 40 mg of carbimazole a day same dose from when t4 was high

Hi Gary,

Your T4 back in range most likely caused by the suppression effect from carbi (as evidenced by still low TSH). It's not a real healing yet... so the symptoms may continue. What's your T3 number and how long have you been taking that high dose carbi? To help lifting TSH, you may consider taking supplements like ALC or LC as other members here had advised often.

Hi Gary

I sent you a pm   smile

Hi thank you for ur reply  I have been on carbimazole 40mg 7 weeks after I had been told of being overactive ... i was told by the hospital  15 weeks ago that my tsh was elevated and have it check in a week by my gp but gp said no need for a test .. 7 weeks ago ended in hospital and told tsh and t4 way out . I have not had t3 test yet but I have been thinking the same about high dose when I have seen other people forum there on have the dose I'm on  I know I was way out and that's why high dose at the start  . I have 5 weeks until I see specialist cause of NHS waiting list and my gp not realy helpful .

Thanks gary

Confusing! 15 weeks ago, your TSH was elevated (to what level?) and after 7 weeks (7 weeks ago), your TSH was "way out" (high or low?). So 7 weeks ago, you started taking carbi till now and your latest test came back with normal T4, but 0.01 TSH...  Usually, (hyperthyroid) patients would start with high T4, T3, and low TSH. But you seemed to start with high T4 and high TSH and after taking ATM you got normal T4, but low TSH! I am lost here... BTW, do you have thyroid nodule issue?
