Still having morning anxiety and still having trouble staying out of my head. Anyone else on sertraline take this long to start feeling really good? Trying to stay strong but getting discouraged .
I am tempted to say that it doesn't make you feel good but that is my personal experience, and everyone is different. What it did for me is to rob me of feeling ... okay it stabilized my mood, but at the expense of not feeling any 'joie de vivre.' just became a walking dead. It happened so slowly that I did not realize it until I had a situation where I knew I should be motivated into action ... and couldn't give a damn.
As I said elsewhere ... there should be discussion at the time of being prescribed sertraline regarding the coming off it when the time is right.
I also believe that whatever medication is prescribed for mental or emotional disorders, that it should be only in conjunction with psychotherapy.
It does sound that you might not be on the right medication for your condition. Bring it up with your doctor.
Hiya I'm on week 3 of 50mg sertraline, also have anixety in the morning, I take diazepam which helps with that. It's a struggle everyday but stay positive.
I can report some positives, coming up to 6 weeks this friday. Felt a difference fairly quickly but that does not mean thats the same for everyone. Previous to this i was taking Mirtzapine since april which was succesful 12 years ago but not this time around, infact i am digging myself out of a bigger hole than i would have done if i had started on sertraline instead of mirtzapine but who was to know? I guess you need to weigh up what benefits the drugs are giving you, it can take longer i believe for anxiety , if the negatives outweigh the positives after a few more weeks go back to your g.p but talk to them now too, they may decide a switch may neec to be done sooner?
