my name is sam, i was diagnosed with coeliac disease weeks back and so know to be cautious with food. i went out for lunch yesterday and had something with soya in. i am vegetarian too with a bean/pulse allergy i think (or intolerance). can i find out how long would it take for the symptoms to die down for this roughly, i know everyone is different. can i take anything to stop this hurting? my bowel is tender and my stomach hurts too but i am on a coach going on holiday. help what do i do?
Try a painkiller. I don’t know how long your symptoms will last because everyone is different. There is no standard time for reactions to calm down.
Hi Sam/ you are aware eating soya is ok for people with coeliac ,so what your getting is side effects from this so i think within a week most side effects will disappear
Thats actually not true. Soy can cause the sane types of damage and symptoms as gluten. Most doctors will tell celiac patients to stay away from soy. Mayo clinic and other special studies show that soy can cause villi atrophy just as much as gluten. Celiacs usually stay away from dairy and soy for an extended time as a precautionary measure. Then , rework one in at a time at a later level, but it is not ok for all celiacs to intake soy. It can be a major digestive irritant and some Celiacs have to stay away from soy permanently. I am one of those
hi people who kindly responded on here. i had the symptoms for just 24 hours sadly. but then they luckily went. i am going to ask my doctor to be allergy tested for beans and pulses as i react like this every time i have them, baked beans, coffee or kidney beans. i am sure i am alleegic to them.
