This is really gross and I apologise but earlier I ate a whole tub of pre cut mango chunks.. Since I've had a bit of a tummy ache but i literally just (6 hours later) I went for a bowel movement and the the big chunks of mango were in the toilet and I obviously hadn't digested them. Is this normal??
Title is supposed to be undigested**
could be normal.
do you have ibs?
If you have IBS, passing undigested food is common. Is this just a one off episode or is this happening regularly? If it is, then you should go to the doctor. He/she may be able to diagnose you based on your symptoms. If not, they will run tests.
Hi MLHX
I am not sure whether this is normal with IBS so I will be interested to hear other people's experience. I have the same with some vegetables, sprouting broccoli and anything really fibrous. If you have to eat these foods, best to make sure they are well cooked and also chew a lot more than you normally would. It does distress me when this happens so I try to avoid these high fibre foods (also due to other effects of IBS being unpleasant).
Yes I have ibs- I'm alms oat 21 and was diagnosed about a year ago after a colon mri, bloods, stool samples. I've been on the FODMAP diet for the last year but I've fallen off the wagon recently and then I quickly bought some mango today and this happened. It's happens before with tomato/pepper skins but it alarmed me at how big the chunks were! Thanks.
it might just be a chewing issue, i wouldn't make too much of it.
what kind of foods do you have trouble digesting?
Umm I can't really think- some vegetables, corn, tomatos... I have had a bit of a flare up the last few days as I'm supposed to be on a gluten free diet but last week Was a bad one on that front. As long as I'm not dying (paranoid googler) then thank you!
haha im the same way with google. I just got IBS and I've been getting quite a bit of food in my stool, so this seems normal.
Hi, Mango does have quite a bit of fiber on it, but some people have difficulty in digesting certain foods. It might be certain types of greens onion etc. Maggie x
I regularly have undigested peas and peppers in mine. When I first saw i crapped myself (pardon the pun) then found out it's normal for IBS sufferers. I too am a paranoid googler.
The best thing is to avoid these foods or take them in very small amounts.
😳
Can I ask why fodmaps for a year does doc know you been on it that long ?
Hey all....can I ask who tells you that it's normal to have chunks of food in stool...if your food isn't broken down ....you won't absorb the nutrients 😳 then of course risk deficiencis and symptoms
