I feel like I’ve lost my life.

I know everyone is probably so tired of me complaining. But I’m so much at my breaking point that I just don’t know what to do anymore. Two full months of living hell. All because of awful headaches, shaking, tingling, and now I’m terrified of being outside. I have awful Derealization. I feel like I’m always in a bad dream. I’m stuck inside and Ive lost interest in everything. I lost my job.. I feel like im watching my life being wasted day by day. I’m on week 5 of celexa and I don’t see any change. I’m so worried about having a brain tumor because these damn headaches. Eveyone keeps saying it’s anxiety and depression but I can’t believe them. I’m crying so bad as we speak. I’m stressed because I lost my insurance as well so I’m paying out of pocket. Does this ever end? I feel like I’ll never get back to my normal life ever. :’(

I totally understand how you feel. I'm surprised I haven't lost my job yet. I'm truly sorry about your loss. Is the meds at all helping? I also have been having bad headaches... And today... I hit my forehead really hard on the dryer door, instant headaches and dizziness... I went to the ER and didn't do ANYTHING for me.... I'm Soo worried I've got a bleed in my brain now!!!

I'm sorry you are having such a hard time with all this. First point of all call, if your medication is not working, speak to your doctor again. They may need to increase, adjust or suggest an alternative. Make sure you are going for regular reviews to assess the progress.

I assume if your doctor has prescribed an anxiety/anti-depressive medication that you have already had tests to rule out any other illnesses. If this is the case, then you need to try and accept this. You may not believe words but tests rarely lie.

You've been through a lot of emotional turmoil and stress in losing your job. If you're not already doing so I suggest speaking to someone professionally about your situation. Therapy may help.

I've experienced health anxiety like you have. I had two years of symptoms changing, months of heart and chest pain, then skin concerns, neck pains, headaches with tingling and pins and needles in my right half of my head, weak limbs, adrenaline surges, hot and cold flashes, dizzying spells, sickness...it goes on. And I can sympathize because when you get all that, it is VERY hard to believe that anxiety is causing it all. But after several referrals to specialists and minor issues being treated where it wasn't anxiety, I had to make a choice. I chose to accept what they were saying to me. I didn't believe it for a few months but every day I told myself to accept it! I did the CBT, read books and each day try to catch my thoughts and counter them with rational thinking.

I've still got night sweats, occasional headaches and mild anxiety symptoms on occasion but I guarantee you there is light at the end of the anxiety tunnel. My symptoms have reduced over half and are now manageable when I get them.

There is hope. Please continue to be strong guys xx

I have had anxiety badly over last couple of years.  My body will, not tolerate anti  Deps and immleft with diazepam.  I get a differentnsymptom each waking, either nausea, anxiety or depression.  I also, have nights of insomnia.  Thenni tried cbt, she nearlynput me to,the wall,,brutal, things said about me notmwanting tomchange mynpersonality, as ive always been anxiety prone.  Said mynexpression was drozen face and imseemed rigid.  I ran home crying, couldnt see that person again ever.  So i have not found cbt helpful. Normdrugs, whats wrong

Hi, I'm so sorry how your feeling right now, I am also in a bead way, my wife left me after I was in hospital for anxiety, and I miss my daughter every day, I can't get to put her to bed or play with her after school, I have no friends and am in supported accomadation, I'm crying all the time and can't put my mind on anything, all I see is darkness and have panic attacks constantly,I feel like this is going to be my life forever and I'll never move forward. I been on citalopram three weeks and I have not slept in all that time, only 1-2 hours per night, I lost two stone in weight and I'm suicidal.

The only thing keeping me alive is my daughter, because if I kill myself I'll be killing her aswell because it would destroy her. Please be strong hang in there, I feel your pain like many others on this forum, I know you'll see a light eventually, nothing can last forever, and that includes pain and suffering, the wheels will turn for you I'm sure, have hope and faith in yourself.

Thank you so much for all your advice

I’m so sorry to hear about that.

I hope you feel better soon and hope your meds kick in. I’m on week 5 and haven’t seen a change but I’m praying after another month it’ll be okay. As for you not being able to sleep, take benedryl or melatonin vitamins one hour before bed and you’ll sleep like a baby. My doctor told me to take those as they are safe and help due to the insomnia of the citalopram. & just try to better yourself slowly each and every day so you can make your daughter proud! I’m sure she wants her father happy!!

What do you usually take for your headaches?? Omg so sorry to hear that! I hope your head is feeling better!!

Sorry Ann, sounds like an incredibly rude and unprofessional therapist. I can understand your reluctance to CBT after an experience like that. That's not good practice of CBT at all and she should know. Yes it's largely involving retraining your thought process but she should not have been attacking your personality or personal attributes. I'd write a letter of complaint if I were you. Xx

Yes you are right, it was such an ordeal but its me whos ill and imbetbshe would, play on that.  Imhave anxiety and depression which i havent found right meds for so therapy seemed option.  Now im scared of everything and cannot get appt with psychiatrist as hes too busy till november.
