ESTOU 3 SEMANAS PÓS-OPERATÓRIO DE ARTROPLASTIA TOTAL DO QUADRIL POR ABORDAGEM ANTERIOR E TENHO UM HEMATOMA DEBAIXO DO LOCAL DA CIRURGIA NA MINHA COXA SUPERIOR; ESTOU MUITO PREOCUPADO COM ISSO! PARA PIORAR, ELE ESTÁ DURA AO TATO.... POR QUE NÃO FUI AVISADO SOBRE ISSO PODER OCORRER ÀS VEZES DEPOIS DESTA CIRURGIA, PARA QUE EU NÃO ENTRASE EM MODO DE PÂNICO? ESTOU ME SAINDO EXCEPCIONALMENTE BEM APÓS A CIRURGIA; DE PÉ PARA TERAPIA NA NOITE APÓS A CIRURGIA, ALTA NO DIA SEGUINTE E ME SAINDO TÃO BEM ANDANDO COM AJUDA... O MÉDICO DISSE QUE NÃO FAÇA FISIOTERAPIA, POIS ISSO APENAS AGITARIA SEU PROGRESSO! AMEI A ESTADIA DE 1 DIA NO HOSPITAL! EU APLIQUEI GELO NA ÁREA E ELA AINDA ESTÁ DO MESMO TAMANHO... NÃO É DOLORIDO, EU APENAS NÃO GOSTO DISSO, TAMPOUCO GOSTO DE ESTAR NO ESCURO SOBRE ISSO, E, ALÉM DISSO, TUDO BEM!

did you contact your surgeon about this ??? or perhaps your PCP ?
when did you notice the hematoma?
are you on blood thinners?
please check with your doctor and let us know the outcome ...

Just to give you some reassurance
Firstly it sounds like your doing really well in your recovery.
I had posterior approach I'm around 4 and a bit months post op.
I have a haematoma too sits at the top side of the scar large in size,it was hard to start with but now softish has not changed in size.
I was worried to start with, the consultant, gp and nurse have seen it and have all said it will go can take up to 6 months.
However I would definitely get it checked with it being hard and you can get advised which hopefully will put your mind at rest I was advised to look out for signs of infection.
It hasn't given me Any problems but it looks unsightly and sticks out due to the size.
Definitely have someone review it,I'm sure it will be fine but it's always best to check.

Hi, in no way do I want to alarm you and I'm sure if you've been told it's ok then I'm sure it is. My experience was that at the time I had my clips out I was told I had what they thought was bruising, this turned out to be hermatosis, that night wa the start of my troubles because the wound bled at the points where this collection of blood was, unfortunately this turned out to be infected, see my previous text. Just get it checked out.
Hi Druedean. I have a friend who had that happen after his surgery and it sounds the same as you. His surgeon said not to worry about it as that sometimes happens but is not dangerous. But I wouldn't like that either having a hard lump. You might want to get a second opinion if your surgeons answer is not satisfactory.

Estou passando pela mesma coisa. Quase três semanas após a abordagem anterior de substituição total do quadril. O PA se referiu a isso como inchaço mínimo, mas amigos médicos me disseram que era hematoma. Meu amigo me disse para observar se não aumenta ou fica quente. Planejo entrar em contato com meu médico na próxima semana e ver o que mais pode ser feito. Algumas das minhas buscas no Google disseram para descansar e colocar gelo. Você tem mais informações?
