Fui al OFTALMÓLOGO el viernes y me recetaron pastillas antivirales porque se estaba volviendo doloroso y aparecía una erupción, pero el jueves solo mostraba algunos signos en la frente y alrededor de los ojos.
El sábado, unas 2-3 veces, mi ojo derecho parecía un poco rojo y sentía una sensación de ardor con lágrimas constantes, coloqué una toalla fría sobre mi ojo y el dolor desapareció.
Estoy en proceso de recuperación de culebrilla, pero no estoy seguro si la visión borrosa es un problema temporal o permanente, lo cual es lo que me preocupa.
actualización: mi ojo izquierdo es más grande que el ojo derecho (afectado) y actualmente está un poco rojo

Herpes Zoster-Shingles in the eye is extremely serious,obviously. I have had it twice. Often, the ophthalmologist will start the patient on ophthalmic drops, in addition to the oral medications-antivirals. I would make an appointment Monday morning.
Blurry vision usual occurs in Herpes Zoster Ophthalmicus, but whether it is a permanent sequelae depends on how severe the Herpes Zoster-Shingles is, your body's ability to fight the Herpes Zoster-Shingles, and the treatment prescribed by the ophthalmologist. The eye drops applied locally might help reduce the chance of blurry vision becoming permanent. I'll post more in about 20 minutes.

Often, the ophthalmologist will prescribe nonsteroidal-anti-inflammatory eye drops. Or... He will prescribe steroid ie Prednisone eye drops to reduce the inflammation. Definitely make an appointment to see him tomorrow as your sight is now affected. Continue the cool compresses, using a fresh, clean compress every time to avoid contamination.

I get Herpes Zoster-Shingles in my right ear every three to five weeks for the last 20 years. I am having an episode currently. As the nerve root for the eye is adjacent to the ear, I have had Herpes Zoster Ophthalmicus twice.
I am a nurse practitioner in the States.

El viernes, mi ojo afectado no estaba enrojecido, pero el sábado/domingo se puso un poco rojizo y estoy preocupado. Me recetaron gotas para los ojos, pero el oftalmólogo me las quitó. Actualmente me estoy recuperando del sarpullido y el dolor, pero el ojo tiene una sensación de hormigueo y hace que las lágrimas bajen. Noté esto en ambos ojos, pero uno es normal y el ojo afectado está rojo.

You stated you have blurry vision and your eye is red. That is a change from when the ophthalmologist saw you. I would call and make an appointment, or at least call and speak to them if you need to come in.

First, only one of your eyes should be affected in Herpes Zoster-Shingles. The redness and blurred vision can take longer to resolve. Keep using the lubrication for your eyes. Your eyes are different tissue than the skin and therefore show different responses to the disease. Definitely keep your appointment with the ophthalmologist this week. This too shall pass...it is scary, however. Shingles in your eye is the worst place, along with the ear. I know, as I have had both. Also, from reading the research and medical journals, the data also states it is so. Thankfully, we have the antivirals.

What is the name of the antivirals? If it is Acyclovir, it should be taken 5x/day to sustain the blood levels.

Continue taking the Acyclovir the way the ophthalmologist has prescribed. Your vision is of utmost importance. Your physician has taken into account your body's ability to metabolize the medication.
Also use the eye drops. Hopefully, your Blurred vision is diminished.

I looked at the postings and calendar. It has been exactly two weeks since the beginning of the Herpes Zoster Ophthalmicus in your Right Eye. As you ask questions on this site, I get the feeling you either don't quite trust the ophthalmologist or don't feel comfortable asking the questions.
Has your vision become less blurry than before? Is it improving...
Is the white part of the eye or sclera look completely red, or are the blood vessels very red and inflamed?
Are you having severe pain in your eye ball? or a scratched cornea feeling?
There are cornea specialists that might be better able to treat the disease if you don't trust this general ophthalmologist. I don't know in which country you live and how far you are from a large city with ophth. subspecialties. That, of course, would be the deciding factor. Your sight is everything.

It is difficult for me to say, as I am not the ophthalmologist who examined your eye, whether the blurriness will resolve. I know, having had recent eye surgeries, that it took 4-5 weeks for the blurred vision to disappear and that it was a slow process.
