I have had small round sores on my thighs.

I have had some small round sores on my thighs and approx. 5 on my stomach over the year I have been on Prednisone.  Is this normal for PMR and Prednisone patients to have?  They measure approximately half a centimetre across.  They are not painful just annoying.

Not unusual!  Pred often causes these blood spots/bruises.  As you reduce they should get better.

What do you mean by "sores"? Are they keratoses? Though they are more common on sun-exposed skin. Or purpura - red, a bit like very red bruises.

Hi Eileen,

These are not purpura I have purpura all over my arms at the moment, and not Keratoses, I have seen many of them and also had them removed off my face over the years.  These are small red raised things with a small core in the centre, they are not sore only if I happen to scratch the top of one, they seem to take ages to heal. I was wondering if any other pmr sufferers have these?

Constance, I have a lot of the Purpura all over my arrms, they are not Purpura, just strange small round sores, which do not worry me in any way, just wondering what they could be.

Are you sure it's not some sort of benign infection?  I would ask a doctor.

It isn't something I have ever heard anyone mention - have you asked your doctor? I would - unless I could find something similar on the internet that was benign.
