I am 56 and haven't had a period in about two yrs.figured I was menopausal but surprise I had some light bleeding yesterday which has increased more today I called my doc and she scheduled me with gynoclogy I am scarred and hope it's not cancer.
Hi, they will most likely do a vaginal ultrasound to check the lining of your uterus. In meno it should be very thin. If it is thickened they will want to do a biopsy or something to check to see if you have any abnormal cells. I wouldn't get too worried about it, if it is anything abnormal my doctor said they have a medication that can take care of any of it when it's caught early enough. But maybe you just have some leftover hormones that have decided to come back and join the party. It kind of sounds like you are getting a period if it's just not some watery tinged discharge. Did you feel kind of pms-ee?
Hi Kay! Just had a discussion with Patti in earlier group discussion. It is common to bleed a bit after so long with no period. But go get test! Most likely you just had s few more eggs left. Your body is not a machine. Docs go with the basic rule of 1 year but not always so. Sending Good thoughts!
