I'm back home!

Thanks for all your advice for my previous thread. I'm back home now after anterior and posterior repair, the ligament fixation for the uterus wasn't needed luckily.

my bladder isn't working at all so I'm home with a catheter which is a bit humiliating and I'm hoping it will give my bladder time to recover.

post op I've found it quite painful especially the back wall repair but they said some of the pain was down to urine retention.

im super sleepy and have no attention span what so over.

wishing everyone well who is waiting for this op, It's been so helpful to have people to speak to, it's such an lonely condition.

Hello ellie. I'm pleased it's all over and you are home. A lot of ladies go home with a catheter but you'll soon be passing urine ok. Don't forget how important it is to rest and absolutely no lifting, not even a kettle in the first couple of weeks. Keep in touch and take care.

hey i have mine in 3 weeks same as you,

glad your op went well sorry to hear your bladder is being lazy! hopefulky be healed soon!

im dreading after, are you in lots of pain now when you move?

Thanks Matron, I'm getting lots of rest so far.

Lovely to see you're home and 'done' Ellie:-)))  Enjoy the rest now!

Good luck mos! It has been really painful and at some points morphine, codeine, paracetamol and ibruprofen weren't quite taking the edge off. But today is better and part of the pain was down to the fact my bladder was full and putting pressure on everything.

In in the long run it will be worth the pain.

im just home and it's really tricky not cuddling my toddler who is trying to jump all over me!

Thanks Chris! I'm so glad it's over!

ouchhh! hopefully you just get better and better! sorry for questions when did you have your op?

awww i have a 3 year old to and dreading that part to trying to not pick him up and stuff now so he gets ised to it

aw hope you het plenty rest and heal quickly

Wonderful that you are home and on the road to recovery . I think a lot of us came home with the catheter, be reassured that this is only temporary, I've had the experience , cause I got the hospital catheter off after 4 days and then I had to self cath a few weeks later. That was distressful to me but I did it for a week and now the bladder has woke up and is doing fine. Make sure you rest, and keep your bowels moving with a stool softener etc.

follow doctors orders!! I'm now 4 weeks post-op and doing much better but still pacing myself and resting and not doing those things like lifting, bending, etc. following orders so I can have a compete recovery down the road. One day at a time!! Give your body the healing time it needs!!

Keep us updated!! We care!!

Good luck in your recovery i hope you feel better soon xx

Yes, this is lonely.

its great to have this list.

I am super sleepy too and sleep every afternoon.

You have had a more difficult time than most I think.

hope it won't be too long before you won't need the catheter - that will be a day to remember!

My best wishes to you.

Hi Diann, that's reassuring to hear, it does scare me a bit in case I get stuck with it permanently but I know that's me being silly.

I haven't done a poo yet I'm absolutely petrified of the pain. Ice been taking Movicol but i think I need to eat some prunes now?

How active are you at 4 weeks post op?

Don't worry ask away, I've still got a zillion questions I keep asking. It's not like you can ask friends and family I don't know anybody that's been though this.

I had it done Wednesday late afternoon, i woke up with only pain in my tailbone and was pretty comfortable until about midnight and then it got real painful and nothing seemed to be helping. It's definitely improved now as I've only had paracetamol since last night although I've mostly been in bed. Walking around is way more painful.

Not being able to hang out with my kids is horrid, the 3 year old is pretty understanding and trying to help so you might be fine. But my toddler is crazy and she's got a really chesty cough which is the last thing I need right now.

You will be so glad when it's all over, I thought the waiting was awful. X

Thanks Sarah, have you had a repair?

Thanks Rousselle and to you, how far along are you in your recovery?

Hello!! I've been getting out a little bit these past few days, plus I've been doing a few things at house like putting decorations up,dusting, just little things. Hubby does the hard chores like vacuuming , laundry etc.. Still monitoring myself and resting during the day. Hope the movicol works soon, I know how that feels.

Take care!

thank you 😘 and yes waiting is awful cause i keep reading and worrying that i can't do anything when i out! lol so im trying to get everything sorted now! which is just silly lol

wow sounds painful! therhings us woman have to go through is madness lol

how you feeling today?

Ellie, don't panic about not doing a poo - my surgeon told me I wouldn't for a couple of days because if the bowel gets touched internally it paralyses it for a little while so it stops working but then starts again.  Having said that I think I took an extra Movical mid day because I was panicking LOL!  But I know exactly how you feel - it's all very worrying until it happens and it's fine:-)))))

Luckily the antibiotics have given me an upset stomach so I've managed to go without too much pain! But just sitting on the toilet is not so pleasant.

Get lots of good tv downloaded if you have an iPad and some books and magazines ready. You could do your Christmas shopping that will give you something nice to think about.

i know I wish I was born a man quite often!

was feeling better but now I've had a shower and walked about its pretty painful I think I probably need to rest completely at this stage.
