I think i may have herpes

Hi everyone,

After experiencing some symtoms, and doing alot of reading over thpast few days, ive decided to come here for advice.

A week ago i noticed some small bumps on my penis. I kept an eye on them and the next day there was about 10-15 blisters about 1-2mm where those bumps were filled with clear liquid . I instantly thought it was herpes. It looked disgusting. I popped the ulcers and applied zovairax. My lymph node on my groin on the same side of my blisters swelled up. My legs on the sode of the herpes also had a ache to it sometimes on the inner thigh.

I started valtax two days later 1000mg a day for five days.

2 days after i poped the blisters they scabbed up. No pain no tingling no nothing. Now 7 days later the scablls fell off and now the skin is pink.

I took a bloodtest 3 days into it and came back negative. Although i know this can be a false negative due to 12 weeks ect.

The only thing that leaves doubt in my mind is the fact that i engaged in unusual sexual behavior. She basicly rubbed her body on my dry penis. It may have been in that exact spot. I remember thinking this is uncomfortable at the time.

But it could also be heavy stress atm since im movin homes.

My questions,

Does it sound like herpes?

Should i now start disclosing it. I just got into a serious relationship with someone. Sex is inevitable in the next few days? She is a virgin so that makes things even more scary for me.

I really dont want to transmit it to her, nor do i want to disclose it if i dont have it

A blood test will be negative if you have had the virus for less than 12 weeks as you have some symptoms present maybe a swab will give a more accurate result.. I have recently been diagnosed with herpes 2 virus the initial outbreak has been difficult to deal with after being with my partner for only 6 months we both became symptomatic shortly after we began a sexual relationship neither of us had any symptoms prior to our first sexual encounter as my partner first got symptoms I took a blood test which was negative his swabs came back positive I shortly after had symptoms which came back positive after a swab test... the high of a new relationship soon crash landed upon the realisation that I now am herpes 2 positive if this relationship doesn’t work out how can I move on with someone new without having the awkward embarrassing herpes talk. To get a more accurate result have the swabs wait a few more weeks and take the blood test again I would be explaining the risks to any new sexual partners if the virus is passed on a conversation is inevitable anyway I figure that if I do transfer to someone else and I have explained the risks then  I can’t be held solely responsible

Yikes. I think the symptoms you described is hsv2. I think you should have sex with a partner already infected.

It sounds like it could be, but nobody here can say for sure. You should have had the blisters directly swab tested for herpes, rather than indirectly blood tested. Wait 12 weeks to redo the IgG antibody test.
