Can anyone with IBS tell me if they've experienced trapped gas bubbles that bulge similar to a groin hernia? After several weeks of extreme stress, a bulge like this appears after I eat. When I push on it I pass gas and the bubble reduces and eventually disappears. Is this what they refer to as bowel distension connected with IBS?
Yes, or usually bloating, one of my big problems was trapped gas and bloating, but you cut out certain foods and avoid many of problems, check out the Fodmap diet.

I have had a “bubble” like this for probably 9 months. Sometimes it goes away with abdominal massage, but then it’s back, in the same place, the next day. Does anyone have a persistent bubble like this? Every time I ask my doctor to feel it, she impatiently tries and doesn’t find it.
