IBS Symptoms? Little reassurance!

hi ladies so i was recently diagnosed with IBS, so i have been feeling out of it like frequent urination, breathless and my body feeling cold like am fighting off an infection or something but then my stomach gurgles and feeling the urge to poop but cant poop is this really IBS and its always after eating i get these symtoms especially at night like example last night i kept on peeing for no reason, my body was very cold, shortness of breath and my body felt like i was low on iron or something my dr run test but things are fine am really hoping this is just IBS because am worried and making my anxiety and depression worst am trying to control it but i cant catch a break its like when i eat am having these issues.

Since you were diagnosed with IBS, I would leave it at that and accept what your doctor told you since he is the expert. IBS can cause intense anxiety and the feeling you have something else. When you accept your, IBS, it will help you manage your symptoms better. Anxiety makes IBS worse. IBS can come on after stress and eating. Try the Low Fodmap diet or a food diary to see if you have food triggers. Shortness of breath sounds like anxiety caused by your symptoms. Change of bowel habit, bladder problems, and tiredness are all typical of IBS but everyone experiences the condition differently. Try relaxation therapy, and distraction techniques to take your mind off your symptoms.

I have IBS and those similar symptoms to yourself when i have eaten something that doesn;t agree with me. Not sure there is much difference being a male with IBS but if you are concerned a Dr is only person to see.
Frequent urination can be terrible. Sometimes i wake up bursting for the loo and was told this is cause the gut and bladder nerves are close together. Coffee or tea can really cause havoc if you have too much.
Breathing issues can be from trapped gas pushing upwards, which can make you feel a bit strange. I take a seno calm for this which dissolves the gas.

I sometimes feel cold or tired as i think it can really take it out of you when its all flaring up. Defiantly try the fodmap diet and see how you get on.

The only difference between a male and female with IBS, is that women can have worse symptoms because of hormones.

you have given me relief to know that this is really IBS and not something else i have brought these concerns to my doc but he said there is nothing he can really do other than run blood test to make sure my liver and kidneys are ok

i felt like my soul was leaving my body it was scary i guess it was anxiety? i couldnt control it like i normally would do other times and i had a panic attack it was scary i didnt go to bed until 4 am i just couldnt sleep these feelings were like a wave

hi sam, my namesake! i have read your post and the responses and think we all know our own bodies more than anyone. if you feel something is a miss see your doctor, if you feel it’s more than ibs definitely see your doctor. i saw mine today, my bowel pattern had altered and i had a u.t.i! typical they took a urine sample which was red. so mine was a mixture of hormones, sleeplessness and infection. i also had loose bowels and that is not usual. you could be sickening for something and not know, only your doctor will tell you. hope you get in and get the answers you need.

i wish i could know my body again i feel like honestly my body has been fighting against me these been going on almost a whole year ever since i found out i was having gallbladder problem, i however got it removed because it was making me sick constantly i thought having the surgery would of helped but it didnt really help other than stopping my bad loose stool now am having badly constipation and cant pass gas, i did a bunch of test and nothing was found, am now just learning about IBS i dont know what to expect, i did also bring up parasites or stomach bacteria to my doc aparently i did do a stomach blood test and it came back clean, maybe i might do a stool sample but he says all the other test are accurate they might not find nothing in my stool, i really dont know i dont want to give up just yet and i also have a iud that i want to remove just to make sure its not playing a role hormonal wise

Gallbladder removal can cause IBS.If all your tests are accurate, IBS can be diagnosed. If you are told you have IBS, try to accept it.

hi sam, i have been given an ant-acid to take twice a day every day, it stops the sickness feeling becauee the acid doesn"t get as bad. you could ask your chemist for something like that.
