I was feeling weak so start having water i start feeling better then. And all day i hant had nothing to eat and my stomach is feeling good but still feel abit of cramps. Ive had back pain to with this.

Need some help what can i do feeling stressed?

Hi Yaseen, the first thing to do is not to panic as stress doesn't help. The very first thing to do is to get yourself to the Doctor & get him/her to make a diagnosis. Only then will you be able, and ready to start making changes & treating it. All the best,

Steve

Stephen has given good advice.

What I would say is no to curry that usually does not gel with the gut.

My consultant advice was to try the fodmap diet, and it has helped loads.

It is not easy but even if you only do it when your having it bad it's worth a go. Spices, glueton, lactose, dairy, citrus all these can make you I'll.

Google it see what you think.

awww ive been toilate about 3 times during night time. Thmk i didnt get a fever but feeling soo down. Because of bad weather cant go doctars now. il after google that diet up

Hi Yaseen,

Janet has also given you some very good advice. I am not knocking what Janet has written and you may well find the Fodmap an excellent place to start. Please understand I am not saying that anyone is incorrect and I can make that statement because all of what Janet has put would not work for me and that is the problem I've found with IBS. Now here's the thing, I love curry and hot one's at that but they do not affect me in any way. Dairy does not affect me and in fact a "a greasy fry up" will bring my pain under control quicker than anything. Banana's cripple me as does iceberg lettuce. Mophead lettuces are fine. Fizzy pop has not effect on me other than to make me very bloated. Bread will bloat me and cause me pain if I eat too much of it. I'm not always sure that it can be one item, rather I'm tending to believe that it can be combinations. Onions will totally poleaxe me but recently I've cut out banana's etc and found that onions haven't affected me and I ate a lot of it to try out my theory. I have tried Buscopan and found it to be very hit and miss. So what am I doing at the moment;

First of all I think "light" exercise is important, nothing too strenuous i.e. walking rather than running. There are very little advantages to running over a brisk walk. I start my day with a coffee which has a small amount of milk, 1 tbsp of coconut Oil (this has to be blitzed fast) it is delicious. I then have a cup of black coffee when I get to work. Throughout the day I then have either water or Nettle tea, no more coffee. For lunch I generally bring in some form of salad which has Olive oil drizzled over it and an apple. Nothing to eat then until dinnertime (around 18.00hrs) when I will eat mostly what I want but not massive portions. I have a piece of fruit or a yoghurt for dessert and after dinner I will have 2-4 pieces of crystalised ginger. Around 20.00hrs I will have a wineglass full of pressed apple & pressed ginger juice. Before going to bed I will have a tsp of cod liver oil and a mug of peppermint tea.

This is a typical day for me. I have been trialling this for the last 3-weeks and found that my tummy pains are allbut gone, I'm sleeping better and not getting up as much in the night, and bowel movements are really good (2-3 times per day, sorry for being graphic).

What you must try not to be is a slave to this. Today for instance I will do as normal but mid morning I had a baguette with 2 spicy sausages in. Am I bothered? no of course not because this is a rare treat, not something I do all the time. I'm over weight and again I'm good most of the time so I do allow myself the very occasional treat and it's my way of kicking the IBS and weight in the face. If it kicks back then I laugh and say touch'e. I'm sure others viewing this will look at what I've put and think I'm totally off my head but that's what works for me. One of the problems with trying what others do and considering it to be correct is when it doesn't work you go into a panic and think there must be something more seriously wrong with you. Until I found this site I was convinced I was going to pop my clogs. What Janet has written is 100% correct. What I have written is 100% correct. It's what works for each of us and one day on here you'll be putting advice that has worked for you. I do wish you all the very best and send healing blessings to all who need it.

Steve

Totally agree with you, each person is different and will react differently. And one day you may be ok with what you have then on another day it does not work. It's a juggle to get it right.

Spot on Janet. Thank you
