Hi For last 2yrs, I 'm suffering tinnitus / ear fullness/ imbalance while walking. All symptoms of Meniers. Now tinnitus and ear fullness reduced . But imbalance and associated anxiety in public places (in busy areas and while travelling ) persists. My ENT says imbalance is purely anxiety issue , there is nothing to do as medication and prescribed anxiety tablets and daily exercise. But anxiety tablet gives me heavy migraine ( I suffer migraine too), hence I dropped these pills. My imbalance is there 24 X 7, and while I go out panic attacks and feels so dizzy and out of space... Anyone else had these symptoms of anxiety ad panic attacks in public places and any recovery stories?
I can emphasize in lots of ways. I was diagnosed with CFS last yr…but my initial symptoms was a month of mad tinnitus together with fullness and then vertigo. Initially they also said Menieres…but that was ruled out as I have no hearing loss plus other fatigue symptoms commenced…however I also developed severe anxiety in public spaces together with that spaced out feeling you mention. I have never been subscribed any meds other than anti depressants for a spell. My anxiety did drop when I made a sort of recovery earlier this yr but a recent relapse has brought it all back with a vengeance. Sorry I have no answers just similar experiences.
yes mine started in my 20s with several symptoms all at once. It was quite scary and I thought I had some terrible condition. But that was over 30 years ago and I’m still here! All of my symptoms were related to years of pent-up anxiety and stress.
like you, I had the tinnitus, ear fullness, dizziness, spacey feeling etc.
it’s not the symptoms that are the problem, it’s the underlying unmanaged anxiety and stress that causes the symptoms.
symptoms are your body‘s way of telling you that something is off balance. So we need to learn anxiety management to calm down the brain and everything else. I ended up getting some counseling which helped a lot. started eating healthier and getting regular exercise which releases endorphins in the brain and helps to lower anxiety and depression.
Anxiety is something that may never go away 100% but you can control it to a great extent with positive mental attitude and taking care of yourself.
that is how i feel ,i try to avoid any walking , shopping because of that horrible unbalanced feeling ,if i have to go out i ave to know there is a seat as icannot stand ,but physically there is no reason for not being able to walk or stand i know it is all in my head. i have had this problem for years but up till a couple of months ago i had got a lot better ,i would actually think i am standing or walking but had a bad dizzy turn and it was enough to put me right back ,but i know i got better last time and i can do it again you get to the point when you are no longer afraid of it and then you beat it ,hope you feel better soon you will get there stay strong
