Hi everybody,i had my hip replacement op on 5/1/17, everything has been going great, free of pain meds and walking without crutches. Over the past 5 days i have had a temp and feeling sick with dreadful headaches which is showing no sign of going.
My question is how do you know if your hip has got infected?the incision is healing nicely but is still a little sore to touch more so just lately. Is infection shown with the scar or can it become infected inside your body etc?
Not sure if im just thinking the worst.
You probably are! But infections usually raise the temperature of the surrounding area, so you'd often see swelling, redness, and being warm to the touch. It would, however, be a good idea to see the doctor. I got an infection in a tooth and had to have anti biotics due to the fact any an infection anywhere can potentially travel in the bloodstream to the site of surgery.
Hi Kel,
It sounds as though your FHR went well. The fact that you've suffered with a fever and headaches for 5 days is not normal. It might be that you have the flu, but I'd go to the doctor to get everything checked out to be on the safe side. This too will put your mind at rest.
Best wishes, and keep us posted!
Hi
If in doubt get checked by the doc it's best to be on the safe side.
