Informed DWP of change in condition....what should I expect?

I don't think fearful is the right way to put it, wary would probably be a better word, I think so long as your consultants have written you a new report that categorically states your condition has deteriated to the point it has altered your capacity to walk without aids and is not going to improve may possibly get you the higher rate, I hope you are one of the lucky ones.

Hi Deborah

I,m new to this site so I don’t know all the answers.

All I can say is, I started getting pip in nov 2015, for 3 years.

Like you, my circumstances changed so I contacted the DWP at the beginning of August this year.

They sent me a form to fill in (for the assessment), the same form I filled in, in 2015.

3rd October I went for the re-assessment, and was told I wouldn’t be waiting too long for the decision because I’m already on pip....it’s now 13th November, and I’m still waiting!

So since August, I filled in a form, 2 months later had the assessment, 7 weeks after the assessment, still no news.

My anxiety is through the roof.

I know this may not be the answer your waiting for, but it’s the only one I can give...

Hi,

Have you rang DWP and asked them to send you a copy of the assessment report? If not then i advice you to do this. Mostly they go with this report so it will give you some idea what the decision is likely to be. It will also help if a decision doesn't go in your favour and you have to go down the MR and Tribunal route. Good luck.

Hi there. Why don't you ring DWP and ask why it's been this long. And if they a decision for you yet.

Good luck.

Hi denise

I did ring them a week after I had the assessment for a copy. They said they would send it to me, but all I got was a letter to say I don’t need to contact them again and I didn’t receive the assessment report.

Do you think I should ring again? I know this might seem silly, but I don’t want them to think I’m desperate.

Its the not knowing what ever they decide that bothers me.

i am at my wits end.

yes you should ring for a copy of that report. Why would they think you're desperate? You're within your rights in asking for a copy of this and they can NOT refuse you either. If that decision doesn't go in your favour those reports are useful when asking for the MR and Tribunal if needed.

When you do get that report add up those ticked/dotted boxes on each descriptor by looking at a list of PIP descriptors (google) from this you'll know what points you've scored, if any. Good luck. It's very stressful i know.

Hi Denise do you recommend that the CAB get to fill in the form with me?....I have 3 can reports and a GP letter to go with it  xx

Yes, providing they can fit you in. Most areas are unable to fit appointments in and they're having to let people down with Tribunal support too. Sorry but what's a can report?

Sorry it was meant to say scan reports .I emailed our CAB to ask if there was another way in because it’s up 3 flights of stairs they emailed back and said they did have disabled access and if I rang and discussed what the form was and the date it had to be in by they make an appointment for me xx

Good luck. Hopefully you won't lose what you already have. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Expect another assessment also. Please let us know the outcome.

I will do thank you Denise  xx

My change of circumstances form arrived today ....40 pages long!!!....you literally have to apply all over again 🙈🙈🙈🙈

yes which was exactly what i told you. Expect another assessment also. I hope for you that you did the right thing. Good luck.
