Internal pain or IBS after gallbladder removed

Hi, I have posted on here a few times and have gotten some good replys. I am now 6 weeks from surgery and still have issues with my stomach upper and lower some just above belly button and some upper center and right side. I have have been scoped from both ends and recently was at ER with upper stomach pain in the center. Blood work was normal and abdmonal CT was normal. I did go to chiropractor that day and he poked and pulled all over my body not a good choice on my part to do I guess.

I do have anxiety with this forehead pain, eye pain, jaw pain it's constant. I also had a MRI which was normal. Just seeing if anyone else had any of these symptoms stomach wise weeks or months after surgery and what you may have done to help it any.

Hi hun. Anxiety will cause lots of problems. I had it so bad I was always at ER. My low vitamin d made it worse. I just had scope done and found out I have gastritis since having gallbladder removed. I wish you the best of luck. Try eating clean and see if that helps. I know how bad it can be. Drs sayings nothing is wrong and ur anxiety will make you think your dying.

Hi Brian,

I just got back from seeing my surgeon, I am four weeks on from surgery. He made a BIG point if saying to me that this is very early days, it will take a good few months to heal, the insision site by the bellybutton is very much still healing and internally. By the way for everyone I mentioned that I am getting pain where my gallbladder was and round my side, he explained that there is a nerve near the portal to the liver that had been agrivated when removed and this will settle down.

Hope this helps.

Cheers👍

I agree with Joanna. I went to see my surgeon after one month, and she said the same things (6~8 weeks) regarding completely recovering internally.

I will see my surgeon in the middle of Sep., and she said the internal incision sites should be completely mended at that time.

Yes thanks for the replys to everyone. I was talking to a Dr this morning that said it can take up to year and half to completely heal everyone is different. He said not to rush the healing it will happen just takes time. I'm hoping it's not that long for me or you guys, but I keep hearing people that had it done months ago still having dull pain in the abdomin. I'm dealing with the anxiety and tension now hopefully i get that under control it will help with the rest .

Brian,

Your doctor is absolutely right.  I had "phantom" pains as much as two years after having my gallbladder out.  You're still healing inside.  Everyone heals at a different rate.  I was feeling back to normal at week five, but still needed plenty of rest for a few more months.  I'm glad you got checked out at the doctor.  Just follow your doctor's orders, eat a low fat diet, drink plenty of water, get plenty of rest, some exercise, and don't push yourself too hard, or your body will let you know.

Thanks Margaret for the reply I'm trying to be a little more patient with it now that I know others have taken longer to heal .
