I'm not getting on to well with alpha blockers so my Urologist recommended I give Tadalafil a go to ease BPH symptoms and help with ED. (5mg/day). I’d be interested to know if Tadalafil is helping anyone with urination issues specifically, either on its own or in conjunction with alpha blockers? thanks.
yes I take it and it helps with both problems
I took Flomax for many years, first once per day then twice per day. My urologist recommended I also take Tadalafil when Flomax alone was no longer effective for me. I found that the addition of Tadalafil was helpful. I had the iTind procedure two months ago and it has been very successful for me. I no longer take medications for BPH because I do not need them.
Yes, I have been taking it and it does seem to help.
I have been taking 5 mg of Tadalafil daily for over a year now for BPH. I don’t think it really helps much with BPH for me, but I like the “side effect” and so have continued to take it.
5mg of Tadalafil daily. I agree that it doesn’t help much but the side effects are definitely worth it. i take 10mg of alfuzosin too.
any reason you ended up with alfuzosin vs flomax? did you tolerate it better? What were some of the differences if you tried both.
In my case I have been going back and forth between Alfuzosin, flomax and rapaflo.
I’m not having much side effects with Alfuzosin however it’s not very effective to relieve my BPH - prostatitis symptoms.
Flomax is much more effective but I’m getting a lot more side effects such as stuffy nose, headaches, dizziness, tiredness and shortness of breath.
Rapaflo is as effective as flomax (if not more) with very little side effects. However, I get completely dry ejaculation and I have a very hard time with that. I did not get retrograde ejaculation with flomax at least so far.
I tried Cialis 5 mg a couple of times. I still have several tabs from months ago because I quit taking them. Sometimes they give me heartburn, not even right after taking. They do seem to help with natural voiding for me but not nearly enough. I still have to cath either right after or soon after.
hi frank, i’m also thinking of going from alfuzosin back to flomax since it seems to be losing it’s ability to get better output. and i’ve been cutting it to get more consistency during the day but my urologists says its not meant for that given extended release formulation. it has been working for me that way , until recently.
do you think i can just cut over cold turkey. alfuzosin in the morning to flomax in the morning the next morning? the other reason to go flomax is I may need to start taking 2 a day and alfuzosin is not dosed for that.
Thx
I’ve been taking Tadalafil 10mg with Flomax .4mg daily for the past 6 months. Previously, I had been taking Flomax .4mg x 2 daily but was having problems with retention and urination.
Since taking the combination, I have not had any issues with the exception of occasional reduced flow in the mornings just before redosing.
I definitely feel better and have better results with the Tadalafil/Flomax combo.
I took it in the morning and Alfuzosin at night. The combination worked well and is better than either drug taken alone. I recently had Aquablation so I have discontinued both.
