Is this Herpes?

One day I was showering a noticed a stinging pain when washing my buttcrack and genital area. I was using a loofah so I definitely scrubbed the open sore, and the blisters developed a few days later. Stressing about what this could be, I have a test scheduled for herpes on Monday. i also did get waxed about 2 weeks ago so not sure if that could have played a role in the irritation

you can’t tell what is is or what it caused by based on looking at it. it does look concerning, though. you should always get a swab test done ASAP (within 48 hours) when you notice a blister/lesion/broken skin around your genital area. if it already began to heal, it is too late to swab it. if you’re suspecting a potential infection of herpes, you should take a blood test that tests for IGG antibodies for HSV1 and HSV2 6 weeks after your latest sexual encounter (70% of people develop enough antibodies at this time), and another test 12 weeks after your latest sexual encounter (92% of people develop enough antibodies at this time). btw, the swab test would’ve been your best bet. blood tests that look for antibodies are a bit inaccurate.. (herpeselect elisa misses 30% of HSV1 infections and 8% of HSV2 infections). if you’ll need help analyzing your results, i’ll be happy to help, because A LOT of people are misdiagnosed from either false negatives, or even worse, false positives from these blood tests.
*a tip: assuming that you are female, you should not use loofas or any abrasive scrubs around your genital area when you’re washing. vulva skin is so sensitive, just use warm water and your hands to wash from now on.
