I had a CT scan last week after being admitted to hospital with diverticulitis. It showed a 70mm cyst on a kidney and a 12mm cyst on my liver, Im 42 and started to have high blood pressure two years ago, can this be something to do with the cyst on the kidney and it it large at 70mm?

70 mm is a bit large I would say, although I am not an expert regarding Cysts of the Kidneys. Approx 2 3/4 inches may be easier to compare. And, yes you are correct, Kindey Cysts are related to High Blood Pressure, or may be a cause of high blood pressure. Many times, unless the cyst is causing problems they don't do anything with it, other times, they may drain fluid from the cyst. You may need to verify this with your doctor.

I had a kidney CT last week for a suspicious looking kidney cyst. It measured 6cm and was classified as a simole benign cyst. My urologist said no action is needed, just a follow up in 6-12 months

Mal do you get pain from back aswell with yours?

No pain but sometimes a discomfort in the flank area
