HELLO LADIES, PLEASE CAN ANYONE RELATE TO ME , IM JUST TURNED 60 THIS WEEK AND HAVE BEEN SUFFERING WITH MEMO FOR A LONG TIME , BUT IN THE LAST COUPLE OF MONTHS I HAVE BEEN GETTING A REALLY ITCHY CLITTRIS AND AROUND THAT AREA I HAVE USED DIFFERENT CREAMS AND WASHED WITH SENSITIVE CREAMS , HAS ANY LADIES ON HERE SUFFERED FROM THE SAME THING PLEASE ,
For a while during menopause I suffered the kind of itching you describe, and then I noticed that it was much better after I had showered, but then got worse again a few hours later. I wondered it could be the body's own secretions which were irritating me (I guess that as the hormone levels change, so does the type of natural moisture we produce in that area?) so I started using a barrier cream. I now wash the intimate area in the shower every day with a feminine wash (either Femfresh soothing wash, or the Avon feminine wash for sensitive skin) and then apply just a very small amount of Sudocrem. I don't even need Sudocrem every day, just when the itching flares up, which isn't all that often now. It's just the standard Sudocrem in the grey tub, NOT the newer skin soothing cream. It works beautifully for me and is easy to use and cheap too. Good luck!
hi Anne, my Mom is 72 and Iremember last year she had the same symptom, we kept thinking it was the soap, toilet paper , laundry detergent etc. the Dr. gave her creams and antibiotics but nothing worked. We went to the beach for aweek and she said she didnt even notice when it left. we dont know if it was from the salt water or everything else she was trying . hang in there .
Hey Grace, is this what Gigi was talking about I believe last week on this forum or was that just regarding UTIs. The product was called Vagifem but I don’t know if it’s also used for itching.
Hey Anne, I had that itching a few years back and it was enough to make me lose my mind. I bombed myself w/ tea tree Essentual Oil, took Epson salt baths. It’s kind of a blur now, but I know I ended up taking that Diflucan, but it would always come right back. it’s the hormone fluctuations that causes it I believe. I would put drops of Teatree essential oil on a mini pad and put that in my panties. I am 53, been post menopause for three years now. I think it was two years ago I was having that so bad. it truly is bothersome. only use white vinegar when washing your underwear, I don’t use any soap when I wash at all cause I believe anything can set off the pH balance. And I believe there’s also a probiotic you can take for female flora, ask your pharmacist about it. I mean seriously, the humiliating things we have to put up with. be careful with the toilet paper you use, because I noticed it aggravates it. and instead of wiping try patting. I think there is organic toilet paper you can buy. sorry for any miss spells or no capitalization, this forum is kind of messed up. Best of luck !
i am betting it was the salt water . i believe there are a lot of healing properties in iodine. I tell my husband all the time that i felt healthier when we lived in Fl in the gulf. we will get back down there one day

Vagifem is a form of HRT x
I had itching everywhere, including scalp... started taking an antihistamine, and worked beautifully. I still take one daily.
I've just realised I don't know where you are, Anne. We are in the UK, where Sudocrem is widely available. It's an antiseptic healing cream, which is often used as a barrier cream for babies, or for nappy rash, or skin conditions, sunburn, cuts and grazes, etc.
HI LOUISE , I LIVE IN THE UK WINCHESTER SO WILL BE OK TO GET IT THANKS .
Hi Anne im two years post meno and 52 i had itching utis soreness pain in and outside vagina I tried vagisan It is not hormone based and you can get it from chemists and online It has really helped me It comes with an applicator do you can use up inside as well as outside I was prescribed a hormone cream from my doctor but was reluctant to use it and havent had to so far Hope this helps x
i just had this happen to me a couple of weeks ago for the first time and i wondered if it was related to hormones. At first i thought it was my urethra but then i realized it was more to the front. it felt itchy and sore at the same time and it felt like it was coming from the inside. did it feel like that to you?
thank you michelle , will ask at my chemist for this .
Hey Louise, I am in the states and I think our equivalent to that would be Aquafor, or sounds like it :)
