I just had my first outbreak in 10 years (I know, lucky me!) but it was pretty bad. It wasn't quite as painful as the first time (I remember crying every time I had to pee, it was agony) but still full pain/itching followed by about 20 blisters all over the outside of my labia and 2 inside. Ive been on Valtrex since my first symptoms and it completely cleared up in 8 days (like scabs gone, only a bit of pink where spots were) and I felt back to normal BUT THEN THE ITCHING STARTED. Like a tingly/crawling feeling exactly where the blisters were, even though they are completely healed. It's been 2 weeks since symptoms started. How long will this last? I swear, this is almost worse than the pain, because I can't scratch. There is no redness or swelling or bumps or strange discharge. Just constant itching, and Vagisil only helps minimally. Can someone remind me how long this lasts? Any tips on what to do? I've been continuing to take 500mg valtrex 2x daily just in case.
So sorry it sounds like a really bad break out. Should be about 21 days to clear up. You should also look up the vitamins L-Lysine 1000 milligrams. Google it...a pleasant surprise. It has helped me.
