I was hoping you guys could help me. My mouth is constantly itching, sometimes to the point where I scratch the inside of my mouth, this ends up causing, even more, pain that in the first place. It's so frustrating, but there are no signs of swelling or any unordinary marks whereabouts the itch is.
The itchiness feels like it is quite far back on the roof of my mouth. I am really unsure what the problem could be as I wake up and its itching and I go to bed and its itching. It feels the same way all the time, which is why I am so confused, but sometimes it can feel better and sometimes it can feel really bad.
Had a similar problem and it was an infection of the palate. Dentist sent me to Hygienist before doing my implants and she cleaned it over and now no problem. Suggest that is a job for Monday to get checked out. Good luck.
Okay, thanks for letting me know. The thing that makes me think it might not be an infection is because I cannot visibly see any infection on the palate. But do you think it could still be an infection or what?
Jamie, I could see nothing until the Dentist got his mirror and bright light in my mouth and there was a grey area at the back of my side teeth. Best to get it checked as if it is an infection and gets into your tooth roots it will be sore on you and your pocket.
Itching on the roof of the mouth is a common symptom of people who have environmental allergies (as I do). I regularly get intense itching on the roof of my mouth when my hay fever or allergies are acting up. I itch it with my tongue, and that makes it itch more. When I say environmental allergies, it could be hay, pollens, trees, grass, ragweed, or inside things like house dust, molds, dust mites. You may want to get tested for allergies. It could even be your cat or dog. Try taking an antihistamine like Allegra, or (at night) Benadryl, which will make you sleep. Or try the nasal inhalers like Flonase. Good chance it could just be allergies.
Yea I went to the doctors and they gave me a nasal spray and tablets to take together and it feels so much better than it did before and really mad a difference
This happens to me a lot because of my rhinitis. When I come into contact with dust or animal dander, my nose starts itching, I start sneezing, and then there's this itchy feeling on the roof of my mouth that creates little rashes.
Try to make sure that the environments you frequent are free from dust, strong smells, dander or other irritants.
