I have been having intermittent stomach ache now for 5 days and it is not easing. The pain generally builds up from either side of my lower back, round to the front and then crampy grabbing pains for about a minute which then ease off. It feels like I have a dodgy tummy and need to do a poo or pass wind. However I dont. I get no other symptons, no diareagh or constipation, I go to the loo once a day like normal. No sickness or vomitting or temperature just continuous discomfort and pain. It doesnt happen when I sleep, I am fine, the starts again in the morning. It is making me very depressed and anxious. I have lost weight as getting scared of what to eat. Has anyone experienced this or could help at all please. Thank you .
Have you eaten anything you wouldn’t normally have? Try a food diary to see if any food is the culprit. Try eating blandly; nothing fatty, spicy or rich. Avoid processed foods and cook from fresh, Try milk which is good for settling the stomach.Keep as calm as possible because worry can irritate the gut more. You may also have picked up a stomach bug which can take time to clear up. Give it a few more days, and if no better after this point, see your doctor.
Hi Maddy50
Do you think your stomach pain is food related? Also, you have no sickness or loose stool so doesn’t sound like a bug. What did you eat before the pain started? or could the pain be due to your monthly cycle?..is your menstrual cycle due and do you have regular menstrual cycles? Have you been doing exercise or anything strenuous like lifting?..
Try and think it out, if you cannot pinpoint anything that may have brought on the pain and it continues, then go and see your doctor…
Try anti-gas tablets. If no results in a few days seek medical help.
