Well I'm feeling very pleased with myself! I've just taken my dog out for a short walk up & down the road & it's such a lovely evening I decided to carry on walking & ended up walking around the block. I measured it on Google maps when I got back & it's a mile!
Whoooeeee! I know ... not very ladylike but sometimes ladylike expressions simply do not cut it!
Well done. You (and your dog) must feel very pleased with this progress - much closer to a 'real' walk.
And what target are you aiming for now?
L
Well now I know I can do it I'll probably do it again a few times before I go a bit further. We've got some lovely woods close to where I live that I used to visit nearly every day pre-op. Unfortunately it's about a 4 mile drive away so my plan is next weekend to go there with my hubby in the car. You can easily walk 2-5 miles once you're there but there's a nice little farmhouse cafe about a 1 mile from the car park that I can stop at for a rest x
Wow. That is great, Fernlady. You're just one week ahead of me, I think. I'm impressed. Do you use a cane?

4 weeks on Wednesday Leslie since my op. I had my first Physio session last week & they were happy for me to ditch my crutches. I've bought some trekking poles which just give you a bit of confidence. I'm only walking with one of them & I'm really concentrating on walking slowly & correctly x
We'll done you, it's funny all of a sudden it comes into play that you can do, I did that dog into it ne hand crutch in the other took me an age but I did it and felt so proud.

Congrats Fernlady! You've hit a new milestone. It does feel good.
keep on trucking!
Excellent work, Fern. I'll see my Physio Friday which will be my 3-week Mark. I'm hoping they will say the same to me. My preference would be to use a cane in the house and then those trekking poles outside. I'm starting to feel like I'm ready for it. I hardly lean on my walker at all. Xx
Hi Fernlady that is wonderful! So happy for you, you are doing great.....Oh how these advances in our healing make us feel so much better.....Wishing you continued healing....Barb
Hi Fernlady,
congrats darling -- great ... A big accomplishment - I bet you took it slowly and comfortably --- I think this might be the key ... I am usually so determined to "walk" and get going - to keep my body so straight that I become rigid -
but what if I just be more relaxed about it ???
Great job -
big warm hug

Well done, you will be feeling so pleased. Make sure you rest now x
Well done chick, you seem to be healing nicely, onwards and upwards. Xxxx
