Just been diagnosed with wpw

But old EKG shows I have had this along time.1992

May I ask the people with WPW what are your Symptoms..

I know what the text book symptom's are but what are yours!

The reason I ask is I'm having chest pains and feel like jolts and some time I feel hot.

I have a appointment to have a cardio cath to see if it may be a blockage in the arties.

thanks

David.

Hi

My son was diagnosed when he was 18 he had his procedure (forgot name- basically he was awake and had electrical currents sent to heart)

He had palpitations but we just put it down to sport until it was picked up by a student nurse

Then if was Drs, surgical appt etc.

They say it’s still there but he’ll be fine as long as show no symptoms

So he just has to be aware.

If ur concerned, go have chat with ur heart specialist , good luck

Dear Iheartu,

I lived with a bad case of WPW for 7+ years before my ablation. And it could potentially be coming back as ive recently just had an episode of rapid heart beat. I have another post if you want to read my story it might help you. But to answer your question. Pre-Ablation: i would often feel drained and tired, i feel like it contributed to a lot of my anxiety as well, also id feel pretty dehydrated and often get vertigo in the morning. But as far as physically most pronounced was the episodes of rapid heart rate. It would just onset randomly or mostly during physical activity and my heart would beat really fast then after doing several techniques to stop it my whole body would flush. From head to toe and it was over. But on days where my heart was just feeling weak id sometimes get chest pain (just over my heart), palpitations, a slightly drained/flushed feeling, and anxiety. Also i couldnt lay on my left side at night it felt like it was hard on my heart. If you can get the ablation I most certainly would. It changed my life. Even though its probably coming back a little over a year later its soooo worth it. I dont feel like im gonna die everyday. Also keep in mind my case was a severely high risk one..
