Labyrinthitis..or anxiety?

I was sitting at my pc 4 weeks ago...chatting away on MSN and suddenly I had this pressure all over my head and the room swam in front of me!! I was terrified...thought I was having a stroke or my time was up! And I recently had an MRI scan (in March) which showed as normal( I had an MRI for headaches)...so I knew my brain was ok..but the feeling was horrendous..like I was drunk...I managed to walk holding on to everything to my next door neighbour..who then called the doctor out for me...the doctor said it was Labyrinthitis and I was given an injection to lessen the dizziness and some anti sickness tablets, even though I wasn't sick or anything but I was abit nauseous....I already suffer from Anxiety so it really was horrific to feel liek this...worrying about headaches was bad enough but now I'm constantly worrying if I'm going to get another spinning attack like that again! I do suffer from light headedness and sometimes when I move my head the room shifts or something...but this isn't a constant thing,so is it my anxiety playing up again or do I really have Labyrinthitis?...I am awaiting to hear from ENT for an appt...as I drive and really need to drive as I have 3 sons and am single parent so having this really is a huge set back...I have been crying abit the last few days, anything seems to trigger me off!, Not sure if it's the constant worrying about the dizziness or what..but I do suffer from Tinnitus as well...so when I get a dizzy spell or 'rush' to the head I get the noises to go with it too! So now when I have tinnitus I worry if it means a dizzy spell is coming on after it!...I've been trying to find a support group...or even anyone in my area who has suffered from this to talk about it and see how it can be dealt with!..( I am in the Midlothian area in Scotland)...I have looked into everything...and maybe I'm in denial but my symptoms aren't quite like Labyrinthitis....I just know I'm scared to go out anywhere in case I come over funny...but what is it though??

Wow! Haven't you got a lot going on. Your questioning of the true root cause is interesting and one I reflect upon when I get an attack (now in the midst of my fourth). I don't know if you have read anything by Louise Hay who believes a lot of our phyiscal problems are manifestations of the emotional problems we are dealing with (or perhaps not dealing with). You may want to read her book called \"You Can Heal your Body.\" Her interpretation of the cause of dizziiness is \"life out of balance\" and I can relate to that in my case. As a busy working Mum trying to fit in a day job, maintaining a household and family life, a Directorship of a small company involving up to four evening meetings per month and then trying to give myself time to play my sport of golf I do lose the balance some times and find I meet myself coming back. When it happens I try to stop being Superwoman and back off doing things - I say no to the non essential and recognise I need to give me and my body some down time. Do you have enough time for you or are you constantly striving to be superwoman too? Have a read of Louise Hays work - if nothing else it may make you sit still for a while and let the world rush by. It won't stop becasue we sit back and rest for a while. Good luck, VC.

Hello,

I have the same thing. It does get better with time though so no need to worry. I too suffer from anxiety and it is terrible to have both of these problems in one. Everyday it gets better and we all just need to be positive. Antivert works great for the nausea and so does droperidol. I also use seabands and wear them around my wrists. They are great for balance. Also, vertigo could be related to TMJ, temporomadibular joint disorder, so if you experience jaw popping, you may want to see a dentist. That is what I have. Try the seabands though, they work great! Try em!

Good luck and God Bless!!!!!!!

I think your post is disoicable trying to see someones book at the expense of mine and others miserable symptons which are real and true and currenty effecting my whole being. shame on you
